    Sega Model 2 Collection announced.

I'm going to assume it's because they're still working on it but there's some horrible frame skip in alot of those clips.

I hope Sonic The Fighters has net play though that'd be all kinds of hilarious.

IGN is up for sale, not looking good for 1ups future :(

Is it wrong for me to be absolutely delighted that IGN is in financial difficulties? It's unfortunate people's jobs are at risk, but that site is a journalistic black hole and has had a hugely negative impact on games writing as a whole.

IGN will probably survive, although 1up isn't quite the website it once was.

Hmmm...Daytona USA 2, perhaps? But I think I would much rather have the Dreamcast Daytona with its extra content. Hell. Maybe the online would actually be brought over on the EU version if they did that.

Also, didn't they already port Virtual On Otartorio Tangram over to the 360? Well, that's already one Model 3 game out of the way.

I seen this a while ago on some other site. We really need something like this for every disc based retro console.
So far I've seen people are working on one for the 3DO, PS1 and Dreamcast. Cant wait to hand over my money :D

Well, with solid state media we are looking at the beginning of being able to promise a future for our more modern disk based consoles.
Not sure how the inevitable integration of such solid state drives into the 360 and PS3 is going to help with avoiding the rrod and ylod situations, maybe a proper solution to those issues are many years ahead.

As Steve says, I'll be throwing money at the first person to come out with the 3DO version, although I'm fairly happy with my collection as it stands.

Well you can already stick a solid state drive in a PS3 or 360 if you want, and ISO files can easily be played back on them as it is with a little software(PS3) or hardware(360) hacking.

Saw an ad for the upcoming PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale and I have to say, it looked pathetic.
Who in their right mind could give a flying fiddlers for this title?
Sony IP's beating the snot out of each other?
I mean, this worked with Nintys Smash Bros series, even got Sonic in on the action, as well as Snake, but there was a nostalgic affection for the entire roster of fighters, as well as the stages and music throughout.
With Sony we get a bunch of PS2/PS3 characters that only have value in the context of their titles, titles that don't lend themselves to the knock about comedy of the Brawler genre, Nathan Drake? Sweet Tooth? the bad guy from Killzone?
At least Kratos might be fun to play, but isn't he in a Soul Calibre game already?
    And Parappa is in there!
Why not a new Parappa game instead of this unappealing tripe?

This seems to have been Sonys problem all along, never able to create a character act as a touch stone for the IP they were making, for the Playstation franchise on the whole.
Perhaps, really, the console is Sony's equivalent of Sonic or Mario.
I remember the awful days of the mid 90's,
    Nintendo had
    Mario-head.jpg
    Sega had
    Sonic_Head-1.png
    And Sony, bless them, had...

I don't get the appeal of All star battle myself, it just doesn't have iconic characters.

Finished my first programming labs and aced them. Surprised how much I knew already from just a passing interest in games and mucking about with stuff like game maker.

Next stop, the new Terry Kavanagh.

Can't wait for Super Hexagon on Android, apparently he's having problems with the leaderboards... I don't mind Terry! I suck at it anyway!

just a bit of a "heads-up" for anyone who might be selling games and sending them by post.

Dealz have mailing boxes going really cheap.
The small ones (3 for €1.49) are a near perfect fit for 4 of your standard GC/PS2/Xbox cases.
The large ones (2 for €1.49) fit 10 cases with a little bit of bubble wrap round the edge to hold them in place.

Nearly got shafted there this morning.
I called into the Swords branch of HMV to book a copy of the booster pack of Skylanders: Giants.
I gave the minion a €20 deposit and made sure he understood that this would hold a copy for me today, so's I can call into the shop and pick it up with son this afternoon.
"No problem" the minion said and took my money, leaving me with a print out of my details etc.
I finished Resi Revelations a couple of weeks ago so decided to drop it in and put a few more euro off the Skylanders game, my son paying towards it with his savings.
I asked the minion, a new one, not the last one, if my copy was on hold there for later on.
She replied, after consulting the computer and her manager, that minion no.1 had, in fact, booked me a copy in a delivery some 2 weeks away.
I expressed my disbelief and so minion no.2 went to the store room and got one of the only 6 copies of the booster pack out and put my name on it.
I can speculate as to the disaster that may have unfolded had I arrived later on with Jack and found that half wit of a shop assistant had frakked up my order.
Explanation as to why this error was made?
"He's new, only here 2 weeks".
    Muppet!!!!
