    Sonic: Vertical Edition

Am I to understand, this is, essentially, the first stage of Super Mario Bros 2 (USA) played backwards?

Anyone ever watch any of these Chrontendo episodes?
The guy is playing every Famicom and NES game in chronological order.
"Chrontendo is an attempt to chronogame the Nintendo Entertainment System. That is, we will be playing every game released for the NES in chronological order. More accurately, we will be playing every game produced for both the NES and its Japanese equivalent, the Famicom."
You can find some of the more recent episodes on youtube but the older ones are harder to find unless you grab them from http://archive.org.

    Here's Ep 1:

RIP Mike Singleton, Lords of Midnight creator.
Died at the young age of 61, during the week.
Not sure if this has already been posted.

Read that during the week, fond memories of many hours hunched over the Amstrad battling thru Doomdark's Revenge.

Depressing how the first generation of gaming heroes are now going to start dying off. Must what it was like when the first famous movie directors started dying.

I'd hate to think what it would be like if we lost Shigeru Miyamoto. We already lost Gunpei Yokoi to a traffic accident.

He hasn't worked directly on a game since Pikmin. Apparently he's back getting hands on. At least he's done a lot of interviews so a lot of what he has done and his thoughts are documented, unlike Gunpei.

Lets hope he had nothing to do with NSMB2, otherwise he'll be remembered in the same category as Sonic Team... ok, maybe that's a bit harsh, on Shigsy, Sonic Team on the other hand...

Well as well as the Arcade and Retro meetup at my place on Saturday, there's also a boardgame meet up on Sunday if anyone wants to pop along.

Can anybody recommend a good unit/shelving thingy to stick a tv on and fill with consoles & crap that won't rape my bank account?

As already posted, go to Ikea. They're your best bet.

If you want cheap, they do these yokes in different finishes and sizes, i have one on it's side with drawers and doors and legs (ikea kitchen cabinet legs) which cost a few bob, but the base units themselves are very cheap. They're finished on all sides. You could turn one on it's side and stick a telly on top and consoles in all the little boxes. If you want to be fancy, you could run cable trunking from any decent electricians along the back of it to route cables etc and keep it tidy.

They also do more expensive TV units that are more purpose built, but they're mostly for flat tellies. If you go with one of those, you can put as many shelves in them as you like. Buy plenty of spare shelves and give your consoles one each.

They also do a hole saw and 3 cable management grommets (plastic hole inserts) for €6 in the section that has computer desks and office furniture. These are super handy for managing cables if you have a lot of electrical gizmos plugged in to your TV. I have loads of them in my TV unit, and they make plugging consoles and video and sound cables in and out and moving things around way less hassle.

he says he's dressed as "Superhero Colors Mario", way cute
We got the New Super Mario Brothers for Wii and Huck loves it when Mario gets the star and he flashes a bunch of different colors. He called himself Colors Mario for awhile. Then he found a cape I made for him a couple of Halloweens ago, and when he put it on he became Superhero Colors Mario.

Save yourself the heart ache and just go RGB. You get crystal clear clarity instead of a muddy mess and not 50/60 Hz headaches.

Not for me, already went RGB ages ago with my modded MD.

Someone on adverts was looking for one. She has a genesis but no rf lead.
Actually I'll message her to go RGB. Best for her on long run.
