You'd imagine they'd have a better view inside.

If it wasn't so rammed inside (like i did say), then i'm sure the view would have been a lot better in there

Esben and the Witch - A New Nature
Their first two albums showed some flashes of brilliance but tended to be inconsitent. Here on their third album they've taken a big change in direction. They've stripped away the reverb and gone for a more bare bones approach, even touching on post-rock at times, while still keeping their weary, gothic vibes. It took a few listens to really get into but I'd definitely say that's it's their strongest album to date.

I had a listen to this to and first impressions were definitely favourable. I didn't really "get" Lenses Alien ; listened to it three or four times and couldn't remember a single note of it after a while. Lose is definitely more immediate, if somewhat more depressing lyrically (largely written about lead singer's childhood best friend who died in a car crash. :( )

Loving the debut album from Catfish and The Bottlemen.. released today, but already on constant repeat!

Awesome debut album, not one song you;d skip over on first listen, not many albums you can say that about

Lots of really good albums that have my attention at the moment, and gladly I didn't let this one slip me by. I haven't heard any of his previous releases, but certainly will after hearing this.

So Cow - The Long Con
There must be something in the water in Tuam, because this is a damn good noisy indie rock album. Reminds me a little of Cloud Nothings.

New one from the Twilight Sad- Nobody Wants To Be Here and Nobody Wants To Leave
    - Tis hauntingly lovely and depressing in equal measure.

"In Nowheres" is standing out for me at present.

I agree. I found out about them 2 years ago by pure accident and mostly because of the cover of "No One Can Ever Know", haunted me and I had to listen. Having been dying for this new album and it hasn't disappointed. I was expecting them to come back to Dublin in the next month though. :(

I was away for the gig last April!

Missed the Workman's gig myself because a friend couldn't go at the last minute.

I think if they're going to do Dublin it won't be till early next year, all tied up in US in November and then only one gig that is listed for Glasgow in 2014. Really loving the new album... that last song is a soul-crusher though.

    It just came on there.

I know they won't be landing here before the NY. but we can but hope. To me October -December is the peak gig season in Dublin. That's when people should be here for their new album tours. But I'm an impatient bastard though.

Not sure if you seen this yet, but it's a stripped down version of the title track they done for 'The Skinny'

I'll stop posting about this band now or I'll end up spamming the whole thread LOL.

The new album by 'Tweedy' which is basically Jeff Tweedy from Wilco, his son Spencer on drums, Scott McCaughy and a couple of other musicians is just. All kinds of low-fi wonderment, goodness and just great songwriting.

I really liked Kin but I'm seriously digging her new album. Great if you want a weird synth-pop fix.

Not released in the last 30 days but one of my favorites this year:

    Real Estate - Atlas

Seems a bit too repetitive on first listen but it took me a few listens to appreciate Kin so I hope this will grow on me too. Absolutely love "Ripple" though, that is a CHOON and a half!
