Sexwitch is Natasha Khan (Bat for Lashes) and members of Toy. This album consists of covers of world folk tunes and made to sound dark, twisted and very hypnotic.

Girl Band's album "Holding Hands With Jamie" is absolutely phenomenal.

Best Irish album since Loveless for me. Don't think I'll be playing much of anything else for a while!

100% agree. It's fantastic. Caught them twice at EP this year. They are savage live.

New 'Beach House' album 'Thank your Lucky Stars' being released next week. Bit of a surprise, to say the least!

The surprise is that there's a new album or that it sounds different to what they've done before?

They only released an album quite recently.

Yeah, I just read back to the previous page and saw they released something in August. Must read this thread more often!

    And it was desperately average.

Very surprised to see Beach House releasing a second album this year. Depression Cherry was already more of the same. Is their new album going to be even more of the same or are they going to surprise us with a crust punk album?

I hope they haven't done a bit of a "use your illusion" release 2 okay albums instead of one great one.

I really like Depression Cherry, especially side 1.

    Beyond Love is great https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wy5iwc1NwXg

Any recommendations for good new indie/rock?

Something riffy with a bit of distortion or killer hooks?

    Already discovered Drenge this year

New Beach House album is out, definitely not a bunch of Depression Cherry B-sides, some good songs on there.

Also check out Nothing But Thieves album, singer has been compared to Jeff Buckley

Thank Your Lucky Stars is a serious record - reminds me of Devotion. Sounds a lot sadder than DC too. All Your Yeahs, Rough Song and Traveler have totally got me at the moment.

not new, but was unavailable for a long time Michael Head and Strands "The Magical World of the Strands" - Head was the main man in great 90s also-rans Shack. It's a really lovely 60s-tinged folk rock record in the vein of the Coral:
