After seeing Rivers run 10yards for the 1st down i don't think we have any choice but to sign Chip Kelly:D

Good first half, typical of this team. That was easily our best 2minute drive of the season.

Ye loved that and the commentator says he impressed with Rivers mobility and should use his legs more :D

With so many missing today very happy with the performance.

Missing Stuckey on special teams today.

Ingram unlucky with an int, would rather see him rushing the passer than in coverage though.

Lynch is making up for his terrible attempt at a tackle on green ellis in the first half. The int and the pass break up on green in the end zone.

Lack of faith in run game is depressing.

There were some decent individual performances from the likes of Liuget, Reyes and Alexander which are encouraging. Another step closer to having a shot at Joeckel in the draft. That would be a good consolation prize for what has been a very disappointing season

I think we've to lose out from here to keep in the race for Joeckel, it's not going to be easy with the Raiders coming to town but i think with this offense we can do it.

Have to say i think as 4-8 teams go i think we're pretty good. Defensive front 7 has been good but on the field too much in each game, especially in the 2nd half. Gilchrist and Wright look like they may be good for the long term if they can keep progressing, the game time is really helping them. Lynch actually looked like a good SS apart from him jumping out of Bensons way on one run, i'd still like to see Taylor get a shot.

Offensively its hard to judge but if we could get 3 new starters on the line to give Rivers time and Matthews a hole to actually run through i'd be confident again.

Obviously a new coach is needed.

Bengals looked terrible last night, the fact that they really had something to play for was the big difference i think.

Rochey are you on the high draft pick bandwagon yet, it's getting pretty crowded up here:p

Hight draft pick be great but not for the first round but more so the second and third.

I would be more then happy with Taylor Lewan from Michigan who can be got at minute outside really high picks. Really enjoying looking at the draft prospects.
I think we will probably 2 more of our games. We will lose to the Steelers anyway with Oline problems.

Main thing is getting a head coach, I would be all for Ken Whisenhunt now if he was available.

I see that http://walterfootball.com/draft2013.php has Miami letting go of Jake Long in the offseason and drafting Taylor Lewan to replace him. I wonder if he whether AJ or whoever happens to be running the show would pony up to bring him on board?? All pure speculation at this juncture but still....

He hasn't played great this year but he's IR'd now so might have been carrying an injury all year. He'd be a good pick up for us but i'd say we'll be priced out of the market, Colts have a lot of cap space and need a LT, free agency would be their best bet because they'll probably be picking in the middle of the round.
I'd love to pick up Long in FA, trade back a few places and draft Warmack as our new LG. That would really solidify the left side. It would give us a lot of options in round 2.

I wouldn't be surprise if we kept Gaithar. I think is crazy but could see it happening.

No need for Long, he will be priced out of our reach.
Taylor Lewan would be the pick for me.

Great news that Alexander is restricted free agent this year.
Wont have to over pay him and see how his knees hold up next year.

It is laughable watching our running backs dodging tackles just as they get the ball off Rivers.

Its crazy with our record and I can only think of two positions we need in draft.
Corner and Oline. A TE wouldnt be too bad either.
Just seen an article that Jon Gruden going to the Raiders?? Not sure I want him. Think he would help our offence a lot.
Such a dark time but but also hopefully an exciting time ahead.
A lot of talk about David Shaw from Stanford. I would like Ken Whisenhunt.

I think its as cheap to keep Gaither as it is to cut him loose next year but i think we'll cut him. Hardwick came out and practically said he didn't try hard enough to play, don't think there's any benefit in having him on the roster if he's going to create a bad environment in the locker room.
We should give Alexander a decent contract, his knees are a worry but structure it similar to what we did with Marcus McNeil.
I think we need 3 new o-line and a corner as priority in the draft. There's also a need at DT as Garay will be gone and Franklin is old. Its a shame that O-line is such a priority because there's a number of good DTs coming out. If we could have picked one up we'd have an awesome front 3 and very young.
The more i think about it the more i think LB is a big need in this draft, especially OLB. We'll presume Ingram is going to be a starter next year but we still need someone to groom as a replacement on the other side, if its not addressed this year it'll be too late.

Did he?, where? I'd like to see that. Hardwick seems like a guy who will call a fellow player out if they are not pulling their weight. I'm wondering was he doing this behind the scenes or not. He sure should have been and instead of the BS we saw with Gaither he'd be gone already.

Like most, for me it is O line all the way.. a bit of corner and maybe an OLB.

It's been too long for the Chargers to ignore O line in round 1. The next Joe Thomas would be great thank you v much.

I remember the interview. Believe it was before Gaithars first start.
He said something like putting in effort to get back healthy.

Big Ben starting, another loss on the cards :o

I have no problem with Jimmy I always liked listening to him.
Clearly he doing something good behind the scenes if he is getting the job ahead of Spanos.
Acce reported Raye didn't want Buster who imo was a good player but was rotting away with injuries.

Acce implies also a good few more incidents where Raye was correct.

Also Raye comes from good stock and he was an aztec

I know very little about Raye and have nothing against him but i'd rather an outsider come in, completely clean house. Reading between the lines it sounds like Raye was Acee's source and he's trying to make him sound good in the article but i don't like that he has to go as far back as Buster to show him arguing with AJ.

Ye I found it odd about the Buster Harris comparison and not giving any more examples. Maybe it caused problems?

I doubt Raye did it himself, I think he is just the sort that would be liked by people in San Diego.

Cleaning house Im not sure is way to go either.
We clearly have a lot of good players, he also left his role as director of college scouting in 2007 when it seemed to go wrong.

He had that role when we had the best roster in the league.

Never knew that David Shaw was born in San Diego and coached at SDSU :P

    Fingers crossed? ;)

Nobody left in Heinz Field with 6 minutes to go. Savage defensive performance.

Thats what makes this team so bloody frustrating, they could have been this good all year. But its nice to go into Pittsburgh and dominate them physically and nice to see the team play hard.

Great win, this is what I've been waiting for all year, if we had got the win last week we would be right in with a shout.

    Meachem drop
    4th and 29
    Bengals farce
    Saints meltdown
    Broncos meltdown

    10-3 kind of scary

Whats even scarier is that we went nearly whole season with no left tackle.
No need for an over haul, Jimmy Raye and a coach with bit of discipline could work magic.

Or right tackle.... look what Wells did in comparison to that waster Clary.

Norv is always good for a tease, but u can bet there is another Detroit (from 2011) like performance in the team.

F Norv and AJ let's clean house and give some of these players the coaching and mgmt they deserve.

The o-line was good at pass protection last night, good for this team anyway but the run game was stuffed every time, Matthews did well to get over 60yards. I don't think any of them will be the solution to our problems but they might keep Philip alive until next season.

Bront Bird, top tackler and an interception, what a guy. Still don't rate him although he might take Gachkars roster spot

What disgusts me is that Bront Bird was let go and then brought back off the street and gets in ahead of Gachkar AND Mouton. Yes Mouton is more of a Spikes like LB but, correct me if I'm wrong, he has yet to see the field on D. And he was a 2nd round pick, a complete flyer like the English pick. I remember being stunned when his name was called that day as was most of the media. And here we are 2 years later and a guy who was delivering milk last week plays instead of you.

Bird is a decent STs player and clearly more worth a roster spot over Mouton. And it is not like Spikes has much left either, there was a play yesterday where, had Butler been on the field he'd have had an INT. Instead the ball passed by Spikes hands and into the receivers.

Some of the personnel decisions are baffling. Don't get me started on keeping Goodman over Spurlock and then cutting Spurlock for Carr.

Mouton is no use in coverage, they thought if he could pick it up he be brilliant, granted no way should be doing that with your second pick.

I must say starting to really like our corners, they aint the best but I just love them :D Gilchrist and Wright have come on hugely.

I really don't know if I want 8-8 or top 10 pick
We currently have 9th and two AFC west teams are in top 5

8-8 sends us to play offs if bengals and steelers only win 1 game each
