I fear even Rochey might be on the fire Norv&AJ/the season is over bandwagon after last nites debacle.

Our roster is simply awful, we've too many not good enough and others not bothering their arses. A weak HC who was never meant to be a HC is presiding over a mess that his GM created for him.

Rumour has it Dean will wait until seasons end to act. Our season ended when Denver beat us in SD. I said it at the time and I'll say it again, we need to move on from these wasters yesterday.

Our O is an embarrassment esp the O line and this has happened with AJ responsible for the roster. He is the guy who has not drafted an O lineman higher than round 3. It's like the 80s and 90s all over again.

What annoys me so much is that after such a long wait the season is over already :(

Our Oline is so poor, Mathews had to juke defenders the minute he received the ball. No pocket at all for Rivers either.
Wouldn't mind drafting Taylor Lewan from Michigan or Luke Joeckel from Texas AM, either would really improve our Oline.

Wright and Gilchrist did well last night.

I am very excited for a new era in San Diego.
Who would you guys like as our new HC??

Hold on there. Just seen the standings, only two games back and we play Bengals and Steelers.

The playoff bandwagon is still going. Wildcard will do :D

Ha ha ha love it. You mean 2 more teams we will lose to are the Bengals and Steelers (unless we fire the HC and GM this week!).

Im absolutely petrified of getting rid of Norv and then getting an interm guy that does well but isnt the right guy in the long term.

Knowing this team they probably will get a wildcard spot giving us a crappy pick in the draft.

Dunno about making the playoffs (queue Jim Mora here), but you can bet we will end up with a pick that means we will just miss on a can't miss guy and instead take another player who won't deliver us value for where he is picked.

Couldn't get to watch the game last night but from reading the reports our offence were a disaster mainly due to the O-line.

Thankfully Rochey is staying optimistic but at this stage we're nowhere near a super bowl caliber team and getting to the play-offs would only be prolonging the mediocrity that we are, i'd rather a high draft pick

I agree OAOB I'm all for sucking the rest of the way to get a top pick. The good news is that there are some seriously great linemen coming out in 2013. The only downside is that there is no true franchise QB coming ie. it means O linemen will go early.

Anyhows, back to topic, Fire AJ&Norv yesterday please.

I disagree on the qb point. People will jump at the chance to draft a QB high. Gabbert went 8! Barkley, Glennon and Smith all stand a chance of going top 10, which would be great.

It'd be great were this to happen but I just think there are more Gabberts/Tannehills in 2013 than Lucks. If 2 were to go in top 10 I'd be happy.

Anyone else surprised that Kaeding is still a free agent?

He got a workout with the Panthers but they chose a different guy over him.
He's definitely one of the top 32 kickers but i reckon injury worries may be worrying organisations. I'd imagine we'd take him back if Novak went down

Wonder what'll happen with Windt gone, we found out previously LS aren't as easily replaced as you might think

Ye that was a nightmare period for our special teams.

Hopefully the guy we picked up can do a job.

He's never taken a snap in the regular season, hope AJ knows something we don't

You would hope so. Oakland in week one should definitely highlight what could go wrong there.

Kinda surprised. I guess his injury must not be fully healed. So much for his bluster about being ready!. He and to a fully fit Hester both on the scrap heap says alot about our organisation ie. did we hang on to both guys too long.

Having said that McClain has been a v poor replacement for Hester. I thought he'd offer us an option as a RB but Battle seems to have that spot. Imho McClain is a waste of a roster spot. Hester offers more as a pure FB.

Denver brought Hester in for a look the other day...

Did not see that. I guess they know what he can do/not do since they saw him twice a year.

Tried him out as a replacement for McGahee so they must see him more as a RB than a FB.
I'd definitely take Hester over McClain, he looks a better RB and FB than McClain

Replacement for McGahee!?, they are havin a laugh. Hester is no RB, all he is at best is an adequate FB and locker room guy. Far too slow and has no shiftiness at all to be a RB. I assume Moreno might be released from the doghouse now and we'll see more of Hillman.

McClain should be a better RB than Hester but he has not been given those opportunities in SD for some reason. He's not cut out to be a FB at all, does not seem to know how to block.

McClain to me seems like a bigger stronger Hester but i don't see him as any beeteer as a RB. I'd agree he doesn't seem to be any good at blocking or opening gaps, Hester had put a lot of effort into developing that part of his game the last 2 seasons, it'd be a shame if the Broncos gained the benefit of it

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,252 ✭✭✭Justin10

We really dodged a bullet with Moreno, if he dropped to us we could of picked him up.

Hester is a disaster, McClain is a better blocker too, but that isnt really saying much.

UT saying Gaither more than likely out again. Franklin set to be back though

I think Franklin is more important to get back, if we're to win at all it'll be on the back of our defence and he's hugely important in our front 7. Gaither is a big improvement but he won't solve the O-line

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,256 ✭✭✭Molly

Gaither definitely not playing. He's now on IR.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,252 ✭✭✭Justin10

I would say Spanos is just going to have to take the hit on Gaithar.
I doubt he would have many teams after him, fantastic tackle, horrible attitude.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,286 ✭✭✭OAOB

Gaither had to be signed last off season, gamble didn't work out which sucks. A decent attitude and he could have been a brilliant LT for us for years.
Greene is doubtful for this weekend so left side is looking terrible

Best of luck today lads, hope ye win as it moves us up in the seeding :D

Rivers is going to get injured soon playing behind it. Losing starters doesn't matter, they're all bad
