yeah yeah... 4 door, auto, non turbo, all the wrong moves.

but i'm totally taken by it, for road presence, reliability and comfort i'd say its hard beaten. think of it as a japanese 7 series :)

You couldn't have picked an uglier version of it though. :p
    Horrible kit on it, IMO.

I think the it can look good on the right car but I can't get behind it on a Skyline!
Now, this I can see myself in.

That Skyline lip kit is god awful looking. Truly an abomination to what's an otherwise lovely Jap motor.

As per norm, it just has to sh*te rain after I washed 3 cars.... I give up!!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,487 ✭✭✭franksm

Same here, but (a) the cars are beadtastic, (b) they'll be easier to wash next weekend than if the dirt had been left to gather !

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 12,985 ✭✭✭✭dgt

Unless its something like the Alfa or the E34 I prefer a filthy car... Now if theres green on it I'll take that off!

I just got fed up after everytime I'd wash the car, either it would get plastered with much or it would lash rain

Hate when that happens alright. I just tell myself at least its fresh dirt that'll be on the car!

Really need to wash my car and give it a quick hoover.

And compound out the scratch on the lower bumper corner that I must of unknowingly hit off a curb

Same here. I can't be arsed though. Off today and tomorrow but the weather isn't great and I don't wanna get off the couch

I am actually shocked and a little bit worried about that tbh.

I assume you dressed the customer down a bit on their maintenance?

I've got phenominal beading on my car today, looks pretty dam good. That's 'wax it wet' for you. :)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,412 ✭✭✭andyseadog

OK. so i have my NCT very shortly. i was going to permanently remove my current shock and lowering spring set-up and re-fit my standard shocks and springs for practicality and comfort and because i think whats in it currently are knackered. i dont mind being low, i never struggle with bumps etc, but the discomfort is immense, there is no "give" in them whatsoever.

sooo a set of TRD coilovers comes up for sale today at a price i like. would coilovers be even more uncomfortable? like i said i dont mind the lowness, but if they were similarly uncomfortable i just wouldn't bother.

Im having a problem with HOW WELL my car is beading and sheeting water....
Whenever its raining heavily like today, when i open the door to get in, water slides off the roof and in on top of me and into the car....

Get some of those wind deflectors? Might help, look awful on some cars though.

When I had my E30 I washed it one fine day on my lunch break. Heading back down to work I hit the brakes coming to a roundabout and a gush of water rolled off the roof and down the gap of the sunroof down the back of my shirt! Literally got right in the gap of my collar and my neck, absolutely soaked me.

I didn't know what it was at first so I got an awful shock! Lol

That's one of the problems with beading, water stays in place until there's movement. It happens me all the time, every time I open the door my seat gets soaked.

The only way to stop this happening is to rub your hand across the water to make it flow off before opening the door.

Also, let's have some pics in the Beadophiles thread :D

EDIT: Those wind deflectors won't do a thing to stop water coming from the roof since they go around the window which is part of the door which has nothing to do with the whole thing :D

Holy bejaysus, was there no pad at all?

    No, completly gone.
    andyseadog wrote: »
where could the pad have gone to?

Worn completely through the pad, then the metal backing untill the pads desintergrates and falls out:eek:

When they look at those brakes and ask you how can they be like that when there is a years NCT left on the car, you realise that anything you say will be an insult, so its best to say nothing at all.

....oh, and there are baby seats in the back of this car too.

Is that car for sale? I have a whole folder full of engine rebuild pics from that car a couple of years ago.

Are you a fully qualified mechanic or what do you do?

    I am, for my sins.

Are Nissans a part of your "portfolio" so to speak, I'm guessing from the username!

So your selling a car with wet seats!!!

Not in the slightest! I treat the leather with balm every 2 months so they bead just as well as the paintwork so it's my jeans that get soaked every time in the end :D

There'll be far less give in the coilovers than lowering springs even at the softest setting. I wouldn't reccommened coilovers for aesthetic purposes, I had coilovers in my last car and the ride was incredibly harsh. Any coilover that offers comfort is generally muck and will fail in a short period of time

Cheers for that. i thought i was only getting such a harsh ride now because the shocks are totally worn out. most of the coils in the lowering springs are touching one another so even less give i reckon is impossible :pac:

I enjoy the harshness truth be told but its getting to the stage where nobody else will travel with me. kind of thought at least the coilovers would be a quality job... thanks for the advice anyway!

cant make my mind up

Oh good coilovers will be awesome but very stiff. Lowering springs and shocks shouldn't stiffen the car *that* much tbh

I wish, I'd have sold stuff to buy it if it was, even if it sat parked for a year.
It's pretty much perfect in that picture.

It's gone through a lot of changes though, it caught the Stance Works bug but it's being changed again for drift spec'.
There's a big thread about it on here on DTD.

Not so much into what it became.
