Young fella at work said that he is saving up money and want to buy .... Audi a4. And yes, with that kit.

He is a lovely young fella, but I told him if I see him buy one, I will stab him at night.

Sup man. I don't know how long you were gone, but you might have missed the battle of titans 3000!

It was vectra vs RJ on diesels. Was epic man.

Worked on the front panel of the Spider yesterday using clay bar, AG Paint Renovater, Gtechniq nano polish P1 and AG HD Wax. Looks really good in my opinion. The colour is much deeper and many surface scratches have gone. Great stuff.

Also near certain I drove past pred racer yesterday morning in Sandymount. I passed a 2008 black 159 exactly the same as his on the way to Balbriggan.

Alloys look crap on anything google images throws up, but otherwise good.

I've seen a green Honda Element twice in Limerick recently. Must be very few of these around. I like (I know I have odd tastes)

Just googled that and it looks damn good, too good. Though will it still look so good in real life...

The first Kia I struggled to tell who made it from the back at a distance, I thought it was a Maserati when a good distance away.
In mat white I like them, seem very popular in America.

It is a decent looking car, wonder what it's actually like.

Looks how I would have expected the new Mondeo to look.

The new Mondeo is tasty looking in itself though!

Like the look of her alright. Nice high lines and the lights look nice.

"Bit" of a Mustang look to her.

7 year warranty is a big selling point. I know 2 people who have them and love them.

Whats wrong with wanting to have an a4?? Most look well kitted out just as long as they dont have the rs/s4 badges.. Let him buy what he wants and keep the edge on the knife for someone who deserves it!

How much is one of them jacks with the wheels? The industrial jack is a bit of a pain to use when you get under the car.

    Well lads, I'm back :)

Me and a mate got a garage today for doing cars. We'll be doing stuff like servicing and all that jazz. We haven't got any fancy ramps for working on cars or anything but hopefully in time to come we will.

We've also decided to go half on buying cars and we'll be keeping them there instead outside my house. Just picked up a 96 Fiesta 1.3 efi with tax, a 99 Fiesta 1.25 zetec and a set of alloys for the 1.25 zetec for €550. We also have a MK4 facelift Fiesta 1.25 zetec only suitable for parts, we'll be bringing it up to the garage tomorrow morning and strip it for parts.

Hopefully all goes s'well for us :)

    Did you all miss me?

I'm not a mechanic but I still know my stuff, I can service a car.

And yes, my mate is. He does cars in his garden but now it'll all be from the garage.

I just kind of assumed it was a private venture instead of a public trading garage. Maybe I picked it up wrong though :)

Nah, you got it right. Its a small-ish garage at the back of someones house so traders insurance is the very least of our worries.

Its only something small, a few services a week hopefully. Rent is only €100 so if we don't get any work we can still afford rent.

Mess up a service with consequences and Insurance will be right on top of your worry list! :)

If youre operating as a business be very careful selling cars, you have to remember theres a taxman and warranties!

That's what I was alluding to, you need defective workmanship cover (as well as the other liability stuff) and you won't get that unless you're qualified in most cases.

I know one or two mechanics who had issues with revenue folk due to their weekend "side of the road motors" operations, nosey neighbours etc etc.

Vat numbers, premises, insurance.... Hence why I never bothered going down that route, the odd one now and again :)

Can't emphasise enough how much you don't tell how much you paid for these cars. Imagine you bought a bargain of a car that the previous owner only paid a quarter of the price you paid for it, not a nice feeling....

Just a tip for the future y'know ;)
