Maradona has been offered $1m to coach Schenzen Ruben (Chinese 2nd division) for 3 months, according to an Argentina based journo I follow on Twitter.

    Mad if true.

You will find that clubs do stuff like that for the prestige and notoriety more than anything football related. They would consider the boost in stature well worth the money.

Think of it as part of the advertising budget.

OFFICIAL: Thiago Silva sold to PSG
Milan have confirmed this evening that they have sold defender Thiago Silva to Paris Saint-Germain.

A bid for the Brazilian and teammate Zlatan Ibrahimovic was accepted earlier this week and whilst Silva’s agent confirmed that negotiations for each player would be treated separately, the indication was that Silva’s talks would come after Ibrahimovic’s.

However, following on from rumours that PSG’s team doctor had flown out to meet with Silva to undergo his medical examination, Milan have confirmed via a brief statement on their website that the player’s sale has been concluded.

“AC Milan announced that it has sold to PSG, Thiago Silva,” the brief posting read this evening.

Can't understand they'd sell either player, and for so little. Berlusconi is a crazy old man.

How do owners expect to make their money back from all these purchases, same for any tycoon club.

Or is it just a hobby as they have so much money?

I expect Milan to sign Dedé form Vasco da Gama to replace him.
Dedé is a good player, but Thaigo Silva is as big a loss as Kaká was when he left, maybe even bigger. I'm really disappointed. Especially as it's apparently for €5m less than we rejected for him last month. Absolute stupidity.

Losing Ibra will be a massive blow as well, he is completely Irreplaceable, if he leaves aswell, I really hope we sell Robinho too and use the money from the sales to buy a few players.

Spurs fans the "major" signing I mentioned yesterday I now believe will be Karim Benzema from Real Madrid watch this space

This would be intresting but then of course you have that guy who for the last two years at every transfer window has been outside our ground saying I'm hearing a special signing, I'm Hearing Kaka....... and well two years later and no one has ever said we have actually enquired about him once so pinch/fistfull of salt!

Sounds like the biggest load of bollocks I've ever heard in my life. Benzema was Real's first choice striker last season and he appears to be enjoying his football. Why would Real sell him and why would he want to leave?

Why would Benzema move from Real Madrid to Spurs? No offence but they are worlds apart. Of all the Madrid forwards I'd have thought that Higuain would be the one to make the move.

I'm calling major shenanigans on this one.

Plus he's probably on double Spurs highest wage and would want an increase again to move.

    Never going to happen

Looks like we have this summer's Ronaldinho to Blackburn.

Apologies. I got a little excited at the rumour and never finished reading your post.

To even things up I wrote a strongly worded tweet to that clown from Talksport telling him I think he's a complete spoofer.

Lots of rumours about Maicon linking back up with Jose at Madrid, Inter eager to get him off the wage bill. Despite playing for the enemy he's always been one of my favourite players in Serie A, nobody strikes a ball better with the outside of their foot in world football than him. Thought he was one of their better performers last season and still a few years left in those legs even at 31. The sad exodus of quality from the league continues.

He has been average at best since the treble, he is still good going forward but seems to have forgotten how to defend. I'll be very happy if he leaves and we manage to get some money for him, hopefully we'll get someone in to replace him but even if we don't Zanetti can play there and it will give Jonathan and Mbaye a bit of playing time too. I can't see him being a starter for Real either, I think Arbeloa is better than him now.

I thought I read 2 weeks ago that he signed a new 5 year deal at Milan? Can someone enlighten me on the situation or am I imagining things? Seems a bit mad that he signed 2 x 5 year contracts in the space of a fortnight, if that's the case I'd say it's been his most lucrative month as a footballer anyway!

Yeah, he did sign a new 5 year contract with Milan who also rejected an offer of €50 million for him!

    Strangest transfer of the year.

It's a loan offer with a view to making it permanent after the loan.
