Same as with the mini tv on....8 :)

Is there a way to turn off something and increase that from 8?

Nope - its 8...we brought this up when the beta was first launched but sky stated that they wanted to keep it the same since they want to maximize the space for program details in the epg

My DRX 890 hasnt been updated with the new EPG yet.

New EPG downloaded to box last night. A bit improvement, at least visually.

Just done a forced update on my Amstrad. Surprised that worked TBH.

    Looks good. Nice improvement.

    So am I :-)
Beta testers were told not to do a forced update - they wouldn't receive the new EPG if they did - as the older version was to be used as a 'rollback' feature, in case of major problems.Do you know what Model No. the box is ? (DRX ---)

How do you do a forced update?

Remove the power from the mains. Plug it back in while holding down the Back Up button on the box (not the remote). Hold the button until you see all four lights illuminate on the box. You may also see an "Updating System Software" message on the TV. It takes about 10 minutes.

I got the new EPG over the weekend and now I have no ITV HD.
    When I scan on
    ITV 1 HD 10.936 V 22000 5/6
it is unable to find any channels.

    Any ideas?

This transponder changed to DVB-S2 over the weekend so it can't be manually tuned anymore.

    Thanks Karsini,

Is there any where I can get ITV 1 as opposed to UTV?

    You can still get ITV 1 HD on 10832 H 22000 5/6.

I thought the forced update was intended as a fail safe to allow users to revert to the old epg. Is it a case if you have the old it will give you the new and vice versa?

maybe it now holds the new EPG as they are happy with how it works and their system is gradually pushing out the updates, but if you force it the system will give you the new EPG? (theory) Will try force tonight.

Still no info on the sky forum - beta section (beta section is still open for feedback purposes from the original beta users) in regards to this so its a matter of who gets it or not via forced or normal update :)

It came in for me after a forced update I like the overall look of it but I wish I could have more than 8 lines on the EPG like the last version.

Tried the forced update on both my boxes, worked on the newer small box, not on the older one though. Didn't get the 4 lights on the old one at all.

Like the visual changes, not liking the occasional lag when changing channel (as pointed out already).

Channel reshuffle on the EPG due tomorrow.

That reshuffle happened today (3rd) ...

Thought today was the 2nd. Must be Flathan!

    On the channel lag issue:

Try a planner rebuild, on your remote press the following in order (nothing will happen until you press the last one):

    services > 0 > 0 > 1 > select

Select the Sky + planner rebuild option. This will take between 5 and 10 minutes.

No channel switching lag so far.

Yes, but I though that was a feature, when you move channels fast it stays on the channel you were one until you stop changing over, so you are not looking at a blue screen while skipping channels.

Forced update worked here last night.
