This sh1t, Venus passing in front of the sun, getting all fired up. :)

I went out yesterday morning to see this. Crawled out of bet at 03:50, drove up to Howth, hiked for 10 mins to a suitable vantage point up on the cliffs, set up my telescope (complete with solar filter, NEVER look at the sun through a telescope without a proper solar filter) and posed heroically on the clifftop to await the dawn...

The sun came up and I got a brilliant view of

    clouds... :(

Packed away the 'scope, hiked back down to the car (passing a couple of early morning walkers!), drove home and got back into bed.

Better luck next time (120 years)...

If anybody remembers my friend who became my un-friend last December in Edinburgh, he apologised to me and it was really heartfelt. I appreciate the apology but I just dunno if we can ever go back to the way we were. He wants to see me later. I'm not sure what to do.

Just got talking to another of my brothers and my baby bro is doing well. He was up dropping CVs in various places in a fit of "well fcuk you, I'm going to be awesome anyway."

So proud. Would love to see him get along and realise how clever and funny he is. Just an out and out good sort of chap. To think I thought we'd lost him forever a year and a half ago, so glad he proved me wrong.

    *dies of warm fuzzy feelings*

If you think it's heartfelt, maybe you should see him. But I wouldn't let him think that things are back to normal and that you need time for that.
