slight dusting of snow grains on the car and heavy frost despite the wind, sky is totally clear now and by the looks of things it will stay clear for the rest of the night here as the band of rain/snow over wicklow edges southwards.

Wet but light snow here now in Stepaside!

Intermittent light snow showers that don't stick!

As here in beautiful Stepaside the temp is +2C - we need some colder air from somewhere!

    Anyone got any? :D

I'd say it will be snowing in parts of Wicklow for the evening rush hour.

It was - but there isn't really a "rush hour" up at Sally Gap :D

Have been a few hail showers in Sandyford area of Dublin very windy and cold rain showers now. Let it snow. Winter tires on car a trip up to the family in the mountains later might be in order :)

Just cut across the hills from Tallaght to Pine Forest to Glencullen to Stepaside to Sandyford.

Only thing you need is a good set of windscreen wipers to get all the sleet and gunge off

Nothing but clear skies here in Naas

I heard Mars is visible tonight. It is the star close to the moon.

You mean it's for snow enthusiasts.
I questioned last year why the great interest in snow and was given an excellent answer which eluded to the fact it wasn't snow they were interested only it was abnormal weather something away from the norm blah blah.
A good response I thought and it was thanked by many .
Yet last week we had Record breaking temperatures for march in many areas exceptional sunny days and yet most evening there was 6-10 members viewing, yet when we have the prospect of snow you may get up to 100 people viewing

    <Raises hand> Guilty!

In North Leitrim. Cold but dry and no snow on the Dartry mountains.

OK. Let's call it so far.....

This was taken on 3 Rock at approx 400m asl; (that's 200m higher than Stepaside at it's high point) - if you look carefully you'll see some snow on the grass and on the bank on the right.

    That's all folks!

    Unless tonight..........

Just had a gust of 58.7kmh
Most rain/hail/sleet/snow passing me by but enjoying the wind

I reckon we will see some proper full snowflake snow showers towards morning and during early tomorrow.

Probably won't stick unless they arrive before 8am ;)

Winds veer slightly more easterly overnight night and tomorrow.

Temps may slide to 6c inbetween showers but dip to 2c in them.

    DPs below freezing.

This guy must have had the air-conditioning set at zero :D

I was going to etch the date/time (tonight @ 8pm, if you must know :)) on the boot then realised he might be in the car!

Snowiest car I've seen since December!

Just had a heavy wet snow shower here outside Wexford, some of it managed to not melt! Most exciting 5 minutes of weather here since December 2010, and that's not a joke either. :(

:D I suggest you move a lot further north!

All a bit of damp squid here really. Well not here where we enjoyed two brief showers
    in a pretty sunny day.

It's actually some achievement even in the depths of winter to get a temperature of 2 DP-1 with a high wind from the northeast in winter never mind in early April !

The Wicklow mountains will have received a nice covering of snow from all of this.

Nice and clear here, looks like we will get nothing which suits me. 1.1C and a DP of -3C, wind chill -4.2C
