No I told them I didn't fancy it pretty early on when they sent the vetting link. there was no point to take the job (potentially letting someone else miss out) then quit it when I was offered CO position.

Received my enhanced disclosure certificate in the post this morning, did anyone else receive theirs? Thats everything now completed including my CTC clearance so i suppose its only a matter of waiting for a job offer.

I wonder was there anyone last time around that had a medical and didn't get a job offer? I looked thru this last night but couldn't find it mentioned. And I wonder how many people this time around only applied for the CO as hopefully this will mean every with my mid 200 merit placing I might get a PCO role?

Is that the access ni one? Yeh got it weeks ago. I didn't need a CTC as I am already cleared until 2018 in my current job.

Yeah thats the one and again that cost them money so why would they pay for and send us the certificate if they weren't eventually going to offer us a job? We are both at the same stage, I'm going to give it 3 or 4 weeks and if i here nothing ill give them another call, give me a shout if and when you hear anything.

That gives me some hope at least! That's if they are anywhere near the 160 mark when they get round to starting that group.

alright cheers guys, let us know if you's hear anything, this sucks big time, I will be so p'ed off if nothing comes of this campaign, merit in the bottom 60 and foolishly not knowing didn't tick the PCO box lol aw well hopefully the new year will bring something on CO numbers

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 31 holly1984

Still no movement on the CO roles. I was speaking to recruitment y'day & they r waiting on the go ahead from senior management. They said hopefully there will be some movement in the New Year. They also told me that when the roles become available they will start back at no 1 on the merit list & everyone who applied for CO will get a chance at the role, regardless of whether they are already in a PCO role or not. PCO's who get offered the job will be eligible to transfer over to CO. If this makes sense lol

Thanks for the info holly. That's not good news for me if alot of pcos transfer over then they may not reach me on the list as I only ticked co and thot I wud b bumped up the list once pcos got positions. Surely this may mean having to go back and get more pcos if the current ones change their mind. Theyl b going back on themselves!!!

So even those who have taken the PCO roles and are maybe only out of Millisle get a chance at the custody officer role? wonderful, lol, so those that just ticked custody officer could be screwed? pardon the pun, saying that I do hope many will decline for both roles because of the wait, they may have moved on, but if I had known all this I would've ticked both, I don't understand why it wasn't advertised, saying that I am only interested in the custody officer role, my fear is placing high enough on the merit list was in vain

Yeah I think they really should have made people aware the way it would go but they say PCOs were filled first because they were needed urgently. Although I do think its fair that everyone who has shown an interest in the CO role gets a chance based on your merit number. There will be a lot of people high in the merit list who may have failed medicals, lost interest or be happy enough in the PCO role so hopefully the numbers will be narrowed down a bit :)
