Missed the show, damn! Love giving out about the state of the awful Chinese garlic you get in Ireland! They have it here in Aus too but at least they also have fab puprle Argentinian stuff too. 3 times the price but worth it!

It was stated on yesterday's show that Irish suppliers are actively requesting garlic from China due to customer demand. (Except for one caller who grows the stuff on his windowsill).

    Done!! Can't believe it's Cheltenham again and I didn't even realise..... :(

    Good Luck :)

There's no getting away from Cheltenham in this neck of the woods.

Wouldn't be surprised if Joe comes out with a few horse racing puns during the week, or worse, falls over himself saying Well Done, Well Done as Ruby Walsh enters the winners enclosure for the umpteenth with an Irish flag draped across his back ;).

Every other country in Europe, you have to do religion outside of school, or pay for a private religious school. Put up or shut up, woman.

  • Registered Users Posts: 20,045 ✭✭✭✭neris

is she giving out that theres no school place for her kid but went sent kid to the school with spaces??

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,003 ✭✭✭bijapos

Typical of the closed mind mentality that runs riot in this country.

My cousins in Cork couldn't put their kid in a school 450m away from their front door as the kid was never baptised. Both parents worked from the day they left school, paid all their taxes, the school was built by the taxpayer and now the kid goes to a school 4km away.

The Church can go hang with their "Catholic" schools.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,003 ✭✭✭bijapos

Extra burden on the kids? Sunday school is the answer, send the kids to school while your in Mass saying your prayers.

Oh Jesus.... woman speaking sense on the radio, wonder how long this lasts?

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,730 ✭✭✭europa11

A burden? It's up to her if she wants to brainwash her kid with religion.

What the hell is she on about, wanting someone else to do it?

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,449 ✭✭✭artful_codger

when she says a "catholic" school, does she really mean a white school?

I think the real reason this woman doesn't want her kids to go to the educate together school is she doesn't want them in the presence of foreign national children and children of other religions. If Joe was a half decent broadcaster (lol) he would expose this underlying bigotry.

I could be wrong of course, but seeing as she said she goes to mass twice (yes, twice!) a year, I'm not so sure religion is a huge part of her life.
