Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Interesting that Bubba9 prefers the eGo-C for flavour over the iMist. Can't fault the eGo-C for flavour myself either. It's the damned leaks and it looks like the iMist doesn't suffer from those.

Yeah, it's a close call...both are great. By leaks do you mean the odd blob of juice on the top of the tank when you take it out to refill it? None on the iMist for me but get them a lot on the C but I just wipe it off with a tissue and it doesn't bother me at all. If you mean juice leaking into your mouth then that definitely would turn me off it but hasn't happened yet.

My C leaks all over the cone and atty if it's not stored tank side down. When that happens I get a rotten chemical taste from the vapour. Tried different atties, different tanks, silicone caps (which were a complete disaster) but still ended up with leaks.

Storing tank side down resolved the leaks though and the flavour from the C is great. Mind you, the eGo-W is better and doesn't leak so I'm using that at the moment.

Just checking the IV website and the iMist has been removed. Atomisers and the full kit too!

    Maybe the websites being updated?

I can still see the listing, although it's out of stock.

I really hope they get these back in soon, two people I've recommended them to are waiting to place orders for full kits.

I'm 3 weeks into my Imist experience and am extremely happy with the performance and reliability.

The only other supplier I can find (safercigs) seems to be out of stock for some time too!

This is a great product and I really hope it hasn't gone belly up.
Seriously considering ordering a heap of them directly and becoming a vendor!!!

Ah, just checked and they've added a statement that shipping was delayed until end of next week. Must have taken the listing down to update it. It's back now anyway.

Going to try the atomiser when it comes in to see how it compares to the eGo-C. The C is a good product too to be fair though.

I've been using these for roughly a little over a week now. My favourite device so far. They seem to be relatively trouble free and give fantastic vapour and TH.

Two things I've noticed though, wicking doesn't seem to be fantastic, if I take very long draws from it, I start to get a burnt taste on the 2nd/3rd draw. I've tried adjusting the wick but I don't think it has made much difference. It's not a very bad problem because short draws work really well with this, but I'd like to be able to take longer draws too if anyone has any tips on this?

I also noticed that after about a weeks use it started going through juice really quickly, and the body started felling a little greasy, so I think it had a small leak. Do the tanks have a limited lifespan, are they a disposable part that should be switched every now and then?

I have the eGo-C and the wick is the weak point in that too I think really. When it's wicking just right it's a fantastic piece of kit but when it's not right its a heap of ****. Looks like the iMist is the same then.

pull the wick down towards the coill a bit more with tweezers and separating the end a bit. you could also try taking a quick draw before activating the attomiser. Haven’t really had a big issue with that on the iMist. only prob I had is that I lost the silicone thing on the tank, without which it will leak a bit so have had to order some tanks. still very happy with it overall.

  • Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators Posts: 9,689 Mod ✭✭✭✭stevenmu

That seems to have done the trick, thanks. I had tried pulling the wick down a bit, but separating the end a bit seems to be the key. Wicking fantastically now and no hint of burnt taste no matter how much I draw on it.

cool, will probably give it a go once my current atties give up the ghost. have settled on atties + good tank or direct drip. cartos just too much hassle with all that refilling, not knowing when they will run out, spilling juice etc etc.

how does the taste and vapour compare to direct drip?

see that some forums in uk suggest that maybe you can rewick these things with your own wire / wick - could work out very economical.

This is Aaron Chen from Biansi Company, thanks for your interest, we can make the wick a little longer.

Hi Aaron, welcome to boards, good to see a manufacturer posting here. If you could improve the wicks a bit that would be fantastic. I did post above that it was perfect after spreading it out, and it was for a while, but after a while I do start getting dry hits again and have to readjust the wick.

I do really love the device though, it's the best I've used, and having to adjust the wick once a day or so isn't too bad considering how easy they are to fill and how great the vapour is when it's working ok.

    Hi Aaron and welcome.

Can I suggest that the wick is made slightly thicker so that it doesn't shift up and down in the atomizer.
It's a great product and as you can see from my posts here, I'm very impressed with it.

    Thanks for your input here.

I have tried forking it into different sections, and into one flattened section. One flattened section seems to work best for me.

And when it works perfectly then it is such a fantastic device.

Hmm, I used a Imist atomizer myself, like what you said, forking wick into different sections, it touch the heating wire (electric wire) completely, THAT IS WHY FEEL BETTER TASTE, do you agree with me? because blance liquid in the heating wire.

Hope you can understand what I said.

Aaron, Irish is the first official language of Ireland. However, only a small percentage of the people use it every day. English is the main language used here.

However, it is called Hiberno-English, and some of the usage and phrases are diffrerent from England.

    For example:

"I am after eating my dinner" means "I have eaten my dinner."

A person from Great Britain would think that it meant "I want to eat my dinner".

Your English is grand! :D ('grand' means 'fine' or 'satisfactory' in Ireland...).

A question for you: Is the iMist shortage here due to the Chinese new year (post office delays etc.)?

    Not your ornery onager

I have done a little experimenting, with the wick shape and some other things. Spreading the wick out does help quite a bit, but I think I've found something better

After experimenting with the wick I noticed something else though. It always works really great for a while after filling with juice. It also occured to me that the iMist never leaks, ever, so it must be really airtight. I started to wonder if vacumn forms in the tank and makes it harder for the wick to pull juice out. So I left the wick as normal, and when it seemed like I might get a dry hit, I'd pull the tank out to let air in, then put it back in and continue vaping and it was perfect. Then I noticed that if I blow hard into the mouthpiece some a tiny amount of air will bubble up into the tank.

So now I just give the moutpiece a little blow every now and then and it wicks perfectly. And keeps the fantastic flavour and vapor all of the time :)

    (I really love this device)

The iMist has just come back into stock at Irish Vapers. I've just bought one to compare to the eGo-C. Interesting to see how they compare because most people seem to have either one or the other but not both.

I know how you feel! I'm the same. I'm happy with my C but keep hearing great things about the iMist and want to compare them.

The other thing about the C is that tere will be anLR version but I dont think the iMist has that option.

I mostly use a needle bottle. When I use a normal bottle top it forms an airtight seal with the tank so you have to really squeeze to overcome the air pressure, it still works fine, just a needle bottle is slightly better.

I haven't heard of one yet, it works so well for me on an eGo battery though I don't know if there's any need. It give plenty of vapour as it is, and compared to the other things I've use (DCCs and eGo-W), you can get a great hit for a much shorter draw on it. Actually that's one of my favourite things about it, rather than one big long draw, I can take two or three shorter ones and still get a good hit on them all.

Oh, and one thing to try when you get it is to hold the button and blow into the mouthpiece a little to see the vapour come out the air intakes, it looks pretty cool (though I'm very easily amused).

I'm beginning to think I was imagining things. I have ordered the imist atty from IV and it comes with 2 wicks but if I like it I want to have a source to get wicks from. Yeah, of all of the hardware that I've tried (and there's been more than enough!!) it definitely gives significantly more vapour alright. For some reason TVS juices don't come out well on mine though. There's always a funny aftertaste.

    IV have them here: http://www.irishvapers.ie/accesories/165-wick-replacements-for-imist-atomizer.html.

They're kinda hard to find under the navigation, you have to select the Accessories category, not one of the sub-categories.

How long did you get out of a wick? The atomiser that I've ordered has (I assume) 1 wick in the atty + 1 spare.

The wick in mine is there about a month now, I take it out every week and wash it.
