The stones part was a bit funny. They ran out of ammo or what?

If you look at the cabin cam there are moments were it doesn't look like they are driving the car at all.

I think that the way the camera was set up it's actually a mirror image.

Is that not the same trike as in the video you posted here on the 01/08?

yeah see him every morning at the same time forgot he was featured before :D

    very young cyclist

From 2:10, several vehicles parked illegally on the public footway, residential area, cul-de-sac residential road opposite, yet not a pedestrian-priority crossing in sight. Standard Irish free-for-all, in other words.

What's a child going to think? That there's a correct place to cross? That footpaths are for children and roads are for cars?

Fair play for driving at a sensible speed at the end there. Did you see him behind the car or did he just come from no where

How does a child on a footpath "come from nowhere" in a residential area?

    Rephrase then
Fair play for driving at a sensible speed at the end there. Did you see him behind the car or did he come onto the road when you weren't expecting him having not seen him initially?

    Happy?

The whole point is to expect the unexpected in a residential area. The "he came from nowhere" excuse is always bollocks. It's evidence of inattentiveness at best.

Nope. The issue there is not "very young cyclist", which is to be entirely expected on residential roads, as is a speed of 30 km/h or less.

What's notable is (a) view of pedestrians obscured by illegally parked vehicles, and (b) likelihood of children crossing at random locations due to residential nature of environment, along with absence of pedestrian crossings.

You've obviously never watched any of the Russian crash Cam videos then, cars appearing out of "nowhere" is surprisingly common in a country with such terrible driving.
Pulling out of blind junctions without looking appears to be a common habit.

Yeah, in Russia. Not on Cloverhill road.;) I lived directly across the road from where that young lad cycled out in the road. I probably did the same myself 30 years ago or more in that very spot. It happens the world over, and is the reason for low speed limits in housing estates.

    Could be worse.

Although I can't really understand why someone would hurl themselves in front of a car (no amount of money is worth it!), the dejected shoulders on them as they realise they've been unsuccessful make me laugh every time.

Here we tell our children not to cross between parked cars, and to use Zebra/Pelican facilities instead of crossing the road willy-nilly.

Unfortunately nobody (or at least nobody important and influential) is telling motorists not to park on footpaths, or telling Councils to lower speed limits and provide pedestrian-priority crossings, or telling AGS to enforce road traffic law in order to protect vulnerable road users.

It's much easier -- and cheaper -- to put the onus of responsibility on children and their parents.

Ah now in fairness I've done a schneaky turn there myself if there was nothing coming. Once you look for pedestrians crossing first.:)
