I think this thread has run its course, I'm outta here.
If you do, I think you'll find some of the keyboard warrior bullying has run it's course too.

A misplaced full stop = the difference between the understanding of 'your' and you're.'

    Go team you.

Ah, the old grammar Nazism isn't something in which I usually partake. Petty point-scoring business.

But I can't help pointing out grammatical errors in posts aimed to point out grammatical errors. I think it's pretty funny.

And what a shame it would be to derail this important, concise and utterly fascinating thread. I couldn't live with myself, it'd be like killing a unicorn.

You may have the last word now if you wish, which will bring us dead level in terms of useless OT posts.

If you want to be a grammar Nazi at least know some of the basics yourself. Good girl.

Lidl and Aldi are horrible German supermarkets anyway.

They kept all their goods ones like Edeka, Netto and Rewe so pesky foreigners wouldn't have to sample their delights.

Are you honestly trying to justify this woman's actions?

Fair enough she didn't bother to figure out the protocol. It could happen to certain types of people. Being intimitated by people tutting at her actions, sure that could happen to some people. Getting stressed while out shopping with a kid, of course that could happen.

But filling your trolley 3/4's of the way up and then storming out of a shop, creating an even bigger delay than she had already for no justifiable reason. That is the response of a very rude, self obsessed person.

Also, coming on here, looking for some kind of support for her actions hoping that everyone would share their stories of how terrible ALDI/LIDL are, well that could only happen to an idiot in fairness.

and thinking about smashing a tin o'baked beans into someones face doesn't come across to me as very normal (even if it was a "joke" as mentioned after the fact) So DC can think of that as a "joke" but everyone else was out to "get her" in the shop. :D

Ah, they buy their fair share of crap too...

...but yeah, Lidl is good quality (mostly) behind most of the no-name cheap products are in fact quality brands who sell their otherwise expensive products in differtent packaging cheaper in Aldi & Lidl

on a side note.....have ye been watching the ads on tv for lidl/aldi

it shows a pack of special K (no price, but we all know its roughly about 5 Euro small box)

then it shows a pack of the lidl equivalent - 1.49

wouldn't buy any to be honest - both are junk food.

but it shows you can pay over 5 euro for your junk in a "regular" shop, or 1.40 for your junk in lidl/aldi.

    Coffee is great value.

    Oh lighten up, jeez!

It was a joke, I wasn't actually intending to commit GBH on a customer with a tin of beans

I can give you the benefit of the doubt.....you should try to do the same in future if your are having a bad day with an overexcited child. YOU created the situation - you need to take control of the situation and not throw the dummy out of the pram.

I just feel sorry for the poor cashier and the mess she was left in. Not so much the so called "hags" (who by the way are probably able to "joke" like yourself - if you can "joke" so can they) who probably had a great laugh at the hissy fit, as did everyone else in the shop. Did you know anybody in there?? or did anybody know you?? :D

    Mess? are you for real?

Are we to assume she was the only one working in the entire building? One of the floor staff would have put those items back. Don't be so bloody ridiculous.

In fairness, it really shouldn't be a member of floor staff's responsibility to put the items back for a tantruming adult. Not their fault the OP couldn't handle whatever they're freaking out about. I once worked in a Dunnes where a shopping trolley was abandoned by a customer. Had to bring all the items back, one by one. Bit of a pain in the arse. Oh, you can counter with "that's the job they're paid for" and "capitol T in "that"" but it's not fair for someone uninvolved in the hissy fit to be burdening with that crap and clear up after some moaning moanbag.

yes, I feel as the OP was complaining the her child was uncontrollable, yet it was her that lost the plot. it was the adult equivalent of throwing your dummy out of the pram. Why should a person doing an honest days work have to pick up the pieces after a tantrum.

Well it doesn't really matter whether it's fair or not, the fact of the matter is, and as you stated, trolleys do get abandoned. It's not against the law to do this, and you can't make the customer come back and put everything back in its place.

She mightn't have handled the affair very well, but I stand by the fact that lidl should have signs up to tell customers what to do. Until I saw other customers doing this I was doing the same, trying to pack at the till.

I thought I told you already that both LIDL and ALDI have signs up explaining what the protocol is. Just because you have yet to see them doesn't mean they are not there.

Next time you are in there have a look, you'll be pleasantly surprised. Good girl.

It's not against the law to yell boo at ducklings but it's pretty cuntish. The customer shouldn't have done it in the first place is my point. It's childish.

I had my reasons and I don't feel the need to justify them to anyone here.

If you find it childish, fine. You're probably right, but sometimes the best thing to do in a situation you feel uncomfortable in is to walk away and that's what I did , for right or wrong.
