We have had a drop out on the boards relay team due to injury. While we are happy enough to run a 4 man team, another member would be welcome. We are hoping to run the realy in 2:4x:xx so we'd need someone who can at least run sub 40 for a 10k, preferrably a regular on Boards. If interested drop me a PM. Thanks :D

the sudden urgency would be because the marathon is on this weekend and i dont have a number.

Did you just wake up from a coma or something? Registration was opened for almost a year and you show up here looking for an entry a couple of days after it closes.

ps it's against the rules of the race and this forum

Anyone got a slot on a slower relay team? Know someone keen to do a leg but closer to ten minute mile pace. If one of your team has dropped out like.

PM me if you have a slot

Not much good to you meno I'm afraid ;)

Had a final warm up run today on the straight road here in Cork....All the usual faces were out in force but everyone was running so much slower...must be a big race coming up or something..:P

anyone anyone anyone got a bib for the marathon. i will pay the goin rate.
    liam....

Ok you seem desperate, you can have mine for the going rate. I'll meet you on monday at city hall at 12:30 approx to give you the bib, it might be a bit sweaty but I'll through in 4 safety pins for free.

Seriously though 2 marathons in 2 weeks to train for a 10k??

This is actually my fourth attempt at a marathon (got injured in the first two, with two weeks to go, was on the start line in Stratford-on-Avon on 29th April when it was announced it was cancelled 5 mins before the off ), so I shouldn't really be thinking about a time at all, I'll be delighted just to finish it.

Plus left knee was bloody sore on a 5 mile run this morning, so maybe the jinx will continue. Plenty of Nurofen will hopefully see me through.

Was just listening to Neil on 96 fm talking to MET guy and he says for the weekend fri/sat are supposed to be good with some rain on sat night and into Sunday. Monday cool and possible rain.

    also according to http://www.met.ie/forecasts/5day-ireland.asp

It seems temp will be 14-16 degrees ish, virtual no wind and maybe a small bit of rain.

I don't know if it is a good thing but the place where there is the most grass on route (the straight road) , the grass was cut here yesterday. I was nearly sneezing myself running past it. Hope there is a nice shower between now and then to keep the dust etc down.

It was a tongue in cheek post but it's something I'm suffering with this morning :(

I just have to remember to overdose on my meds between now and then and I should be fine, not suffered too bad with the pollen so far this year and the Irish pollen never seemed to get me as bad as the UK stuff.

outforarun has been in France for training, belcarra has gone for the altitude training(Connemarra), but I have home advantage so I might pull it off.:p

New we hadn't sorted out the pub for the after yet...

Is there a local Corkonian about to suggest somewhere?

There's free stuff going in L'Atitude 51 right across the road from City Hall on Mon afternoon according to the Running in Cork blog as well as a competition for a free meal for two, winner being whoever is closest in predicting the time of the winning woman on the day, details here.

They serve beer as well as wine btw :)
On Monday 4th of June from 4 pm till 7 pm, L'Atitude 51 Wine Café situated at the corner of 1 Union Quay and Anglesea St next to city Hall, will be serving free canapés and petits fours in the bar downstairs for all the Marathon, Half-Marathon and Relay race participants.

    Paulie,
Can you sort the table by Predicted Time starting with the quickest on top...I'm not comfortable being top of the pille!

I wouldn't ask but seeing as you have assumed the new title...;-)
