Not a whole lot of stuff in there alright. I guess costs have to be cut, dont see any mention of Bord Gais this year, so that must have lost that main sponsorship.
The expo could do with something extra.

Stalls from shops that are not within 5 mins walk of city hall ?

(3:14:36 off the Garmin for me) 3:14:37 officially - delighted 11 min PB - was totally spaced coming up the finishing straight!

Another superbly organised race that other events could learn a lot from. Support from the public and relay runners was brilliant. Top, top notch. Many other Irish marathons say they want to be as good and as big as Dublin but in my view Cork is the only other city marathon that comes close. Take a bow Cork.

3:41:03. Wanted 3:30 but wheels came off after 20miles. Reasonably happy with a 10min pb.

    FINISHED

Did it all wrong but came home 3:26:**:D:D
Really enjoyed it but ran out of steam from 20 miles.

    GUTTED.....
DNF, still in a daze, l don't know what happened, got a stomach cramp after 9 miles (never even had one in training before), tried to run it off but was totally in bits by 17miles. went through mental hell deciding to pull the plug but no point in walking home at that stage......
REALLY P**sed off as training had gone so well, done 18 w/14 at PMP no problem!:(

Jeez - sorry to hear that - don't know what to say - I'm sure you did the right thing; no point walking or becoming a hospital case - :(

Nearly a carbon copy of last year. Had to pull up around 19/20 miles thinking I was going to get sick. Feared the worse (DNF). Didn't get sick. Ploughed on. Gutted at 20/21 when I knew 3:30 was gone. Stopped watching the Garmin, focused on the horizon, actively ignored my legs. Managed to keep it going till the end and took a minute off last year. Less disappointed at 26.2 than at 20/21.

Not every day you get a marathon PB. So I'm doing a good job focusing on that.

    3:40.31

Results posted on www.championchipireland.com Not totally finalised as we have some rogues who we think jumped in after the start so need to suss them out and a few who switched races on the day. Will post chip times for the half also later so hold your horses if you are missing and all will be cleared up in a day or two I hope.

Deja vu here. Out for the pace I wanted but knew it wasn't sustainable and decided to slow down too late at 14 miles. Came in at 3.26 as well. :(

Just under 3:49 - disgusted & happy at the same time. Body gave in at 17/18 miles when was on for under 3:30 , but 1st marathon attempt so at least I've something to try & beat now.

Delighted came in in 3 28. I never settled at all today and every mile was tough. Man it was hot from the strat. Absolutely thrilled to get under 3 30 and a 35 min PB from Dublin. Coming down Patrick st was amazing. The support was great. Best feeling of the day was squeezing a sponge across the back of my neck at the lough.

My goal was sub 3:35 and got 3:28:12! I even had a negative split. I'm not sure how I managed to pull that off - Magic or something. I just felt so great the whole race ( tired near the end, but still feeling great)! That's a 42 minute personal best for me ( in 8 months)! So proud of myself :):):)

    Congrats to everyone Xx

Disappointed with my pack which my bro collected for me today instead of small half tee got large relay also very cheap bag compared to previous years and not great freebies with the pack. Looks like a big effort was made to drive down costs this year.

Just a quick one on this. Your name, race number number and address will have been taken and the plan was (I think) to send out a tech t-shirt to you in the post, for the size you ordered.

For some reason all of the mens half tops ran out towards the middle/end of registration on Sunday so to make sure that people got something they were giving them the relay cotton t-****s in the packs.

Maybe someone can confirm this but that is what I had heard.

Do we have to ? :(:D

I can fill it out for you if you like :P

Would have been worse for you if you'd been beside me banging on about Cork v Dublin in 1983 as we passed Pairc Ui Chaoimh
