Luxobarge... no mention of NCT or TAX but only 80k miles and I'm sure you'd get it cheaper than the asking price of €2,499

The whole concept of bangernomics kinda goes out the window when the yearly tax approaches 2000 Euro, not to mention petrol costs..

You'd be lookin at 4000 grand to put that on the road for a year even if it sails through the NCT. Even just typical new car stuff like a few tyres, a service and a tank a juice and you'd be up around 5k.

    Not bangernomics.

    3) Engine hunts one or two times when you idle it. Tried the AirFlow Meter but it didn't cure it. Probably just leave it TBH as it's not bad.

Did you clean the throttle body?

I know I'm being a bit of a sarcastic fecker but I smiled when I read that. Is it in the same vein that some people seem to think that a 1.8 litre car is 18cc;)

Im a big fan of these cars, It's just a pity they didn't stick a honda engine in them instead of that rover lump.

Not an option at the time :)

Given the 2.5V6s love for fuel and motor tax rates over here coupled with the unwantedness of the 1.8K I reckon the only viable option for a ZS is the L series diesel :)

No mention with service history which would concern me with it being a turbo killer.
Also if you go to see it spend a few mins playing about with the locks, they're liable to go on that car because that key-card is hopeless... I think that model has the card.

Yeah but luxury and no depreciation. And the smile it'd put on your face every day.
Or you could go and buy a new skoda pay 300 in tax and pay well more in depreciation per year.
No one Is going to have their heads turned by a brand new paddy spec car. They would by an s320 whatever the year!

I'd take a pop on it if I had the cash! The mileage is nothing, think in a previous post someone said 52k?

Im looking for a basic a to b car, will be doing less than 100 miles a week. Seems to fit the bill for cheap tax and insurance too.

Yes, I had one and it just kept up with one problem after another. I kept fixing and fixing and sinking money in to it and it would still break your heart. Water pump failing three times, oil leaking on to the timing belt, wishbones, c.v joints, brake lines, brake shoes. Constant hassle, stay away if I were you.

If that 730i is as good as the ad says it is, its an absolute bargain IMO.

    Anyway some bangers,

    2001 Alfa 166 2.0 with NCT for €750

Strange spec on that seicento, is it an SX model? Thought the SX and sporting were 1.1 but that's 899cc

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 494 ✭✭Barry Barry

Well its not coming back as an SX on My wheels anyway, just a bog standard one

I know it's just a pity they didnt. I wouldn't mind the k series either, it's just they get tappety with age and of course the hg goes but an uprated gasket and kit should solve that part of it.

Your probably correct in saying the L series diesel is the best option in this country. They are the most reliable maintainance friendly zs model imo.

    Doesnt add up..
Says 1783cc in the ad but also says in the ad its the GDi engine (the better one) ,(Which it isnt)

    GDI are 1834 cc ..

  • Registered Users Posts: 73,383 ✭✭✭✭colm_mcm

The GDI may be more advanced, but its less desirable.

What's the story with the miles (not km), UK import? If the paperwork and a thorough test check out, it might sure be worth a punt.

Maybe they thought that 311,000km looks a bit big
