    Looks sweet as a nut.

Doesn't qualify for vintage tax just in case you thought it did.
You should be able to get classic insurance though, once it's not your daily driver.

    98 316. NCT for a year and 2 months tax. 850

Would easily fit into the buy and sell on for the same price as your bought it category if you got it for 700-750

    15 days old ad, however.

Would you consider 15 days an old ad? Just curious, i wouldn't be too put off by it, 3 weeks plus and i'd be a bit more cautious.

Just wondering what other people think as I'm looking at changing cars and have been trawling through donedeal for weeks, maybe I should be more be more picky and cut out older ads

Because it might be sold already since 2 weeks is pretty long for a car at a reasonable price (which I think it is) or if it hasn't sold yet, there might be something wrong that the seller isn't mentioning.

Ya i get what your saying alright. Two weeks would be long for a reasonably priced diesel, an old petrol BMW would have a smaller market so would hang around longer. All depends on the car i suppose

Anyway here's a nice one, leather, nct, timing belt done 10k ago. €700

A clean looking 1.4 civic from 99 for 750 with a few months NCT. Get it for 600 and you would be something that will run for the next 150k no problem if the legends are to be believed about that engine.

E240 estate. Can seat 7. 920 asking and you could probably haggle some off it. Be a savage yoke for touring across Europe for the summer all the same.

That should be used as a template for all ads, with the exception that it needs a few more pics.

OK, so I parted with some cash yesterday. Maybe not true bangernomics but very close. I went local and bought a 2001 Primera 1.6. It's got 132k, drives lovely without a rattle and isn't due a service for another 3-4k. The NCT and Tax are both just out, but it'll take very little to put it though IMO so I have it booked in for a few weeks.

    Fault list so far.

    1) Wipers wont go to park - seems to be a fouled up wiper motor and according to a Primera website this can be removed and cleaned easily.
    2) Intermittent Airbag light flickering - Hopefully this is a bad connection at the back of the Cluster. If not I may have to part with a few euros.
    3) Engine hunts one or two times when you idle it. Tried the AirFlow Meter but it didn't cure it. Probably just leave it TBH as it's not bad.
    4) Screen on head unit faulty and some cluster bulbs blown. - I'll change the cluster bulbs but the head unit will have to be ok.

Unless you got that car for nothing, it's not bangernomics. Id be very wary of one of these without nct as they have alot of components in the steering which wear out in them and the costs add up if it needs to be refurbished. Tbh you'd probly get a decent one of them with a years test for peanuts.
