So its not quite 'end of the world'? They're going from military checkpoints, to the quarantined areas? That sounds awesome :D

Looks grand, but sure every game these days looks good thanks to trailers like that. I won't be completely interested until I see gameplay

    More Last of Us info,
I just watched two people from Naughty Dog play The Last of Us in Santa Monica. It was the best demo for a game I've seen since Assassin's Creed III a few months ago.

    Here's what happened.

Read a little bit of it and had to force myself to stop reading.
    More spoilers in this piece.

    delayed???

They never gave a release date yet, specifically to avoid reactions like yours.

I'd be surprised if it's out this year.

Just watched the gameplay trailer yesterday. Looks f*cking fantastic. I love the sound design look of the combat.

It's great to see a new exclusive for the PS3 so close to the end of it's life cycle.

Where does it say late 2013?

They've always said 2013, I'm betting first half of 2013.

It is not a zombie game!!!! do your research and stop calling it a zombie game. There are no zombies.

They are zombies. It doesn't matter if its voodoo magic, the Rage virus, a chemical spill or in this case a fungus, they're still zombies. Also it's a trope in zombie films that the characters usually for the most part do not refer to the zombies as zombies. So do some research yourself.

What? Using the word zombie implies that they have died previously, where you getting the information that the people infected have previously been dead?

Using the word zombie doesn't automatically imply that they have died previously, see the Rage virus in 28 Days Later for one recent example of this. It's just a term given to monsters in media that share common traits, most importantly that they were once human and have lost their humanity but are still recognisable as being human, even if in a grotesque way.

Here's the deal, you can call them what you want but they are still zombies, and an interesting fact is that most zombie films will never refer to the zombies as zombies. It's a trope that started with George A. Romero's Night of the Living Dead and possibly before that. There's lot's of explanations for how zombies are created, you have radiation in Night of the Living Dead, chemicals in Return of the Living Dead, the Rage virus in 28 Days Later. There's plenty of other reasons for zombies in popular media such as nanobots, aliens and demonic possession to name a few. Mostly there is no reason given for the zombie outbreak. So it doesn't matter whether zombies were dead beforehand or how they were created, they're still zombies. Naughty Dog have come up with an original cause for their zombies but they are still zombies since the cause does not define them but more their mannerisms and more importantly the lack of humanity they have when they were once human.

If the enemies in The Last Of Us were rabid fanbois out for your e-penis, not a f#ck would be given from me, so long as the gameplay and story were top-notch. And given Naughty Dog's back catalogue, I am fairly confident about the latter aspects of the game.

In this game they are not zombies.

    Rule no.1: Zombies can't run.

That's it, I don't know what they are in this game, but if it runs, it ain't a zombie.

You can call them zombies all you want, but they ain't zombies.
