From the sounds of it if the developer can deliver on the promises then it will be interesting. Sounds like there'll be survival elements.

I despise escort missions, but they actually managed to get some fun setpieces out of the Ashley escort missions in RE4. Still, when it comes to AI companions, ICO remains the definitive example, and the shining light all others should follow.

While i agree that Dead Island was nothing like the trailer (but lets be fair, alot of games do that!), it was still one of the best Zombie games i've played (L4D1&2 just are not great single player games).

so damn agree. that fliping dead island trailer was savage, but then when i sow it being like some sort of mmorpg i had an epic /facepalm... and here i was expecting a serious zombie game

But people arent getting excited cause of the trailer alone the fact that naughty dog are making it you know what to expect.
difference between this and a zombie game like dead island,l4d and dead rising is those games are just bout killing zombies while this will be more story driven cinematic experience involving the two characters than just a mind nubbing kill zombie here , there and everywhere sort of game

Lets hope for the best, but i am really tired if getting fooled by cinematic trailers.

Give them time! I have never bought a game based solely on its cinematic trailer,I just look on it as a means of the company getting the idea out there.

I will only judge this game when any substantial details about how it plays are released, then watch actual gameplay footage of it.

For now I am looking forward to what possibly could be something refreshing and new in this genre. Hopefully it will, and until I have reason to think otherwise I will be happy to look forward to this!

TBH trailer wasn't even that great. It's the premise of the game is what makes it sound interesting.

Dead Island had one of the best trailers ever and the game itself was one of my faves this year. I can understand why people got upset but it was a cinematic trailer, that was all.

Plus if you are gonna compare games, I think the closest one will be I Am Alive but I feel that's gonna be a bit poor but will wait and see.

The moderators weren't long catching on to Mystic86's post but did nothing about the original post he was replying to - does a post have to be reported before a moderator can act on it? Shouldn't be the case if it is. Must not be if Mystic86 got banned, unless somebody reported it...?

Also as has been said to you twice already on two seperate occasions, attack the post not the poster. Just because someone doesn't agree with you doesn't give you the right to insult them. Read the charter and boards.ie's terms and conditions, the parts you broke will be in there.
