Anyhoo... I went on a date with 1 of the people who replied. It was pretty good

Very few messages replied to - one to be exact, and no dates.

Can I ask you....did you really see yourself with each of these 100 people? I joined a site about a month ago now, and I've only initiated contact first with about 6 or 7 guys (and yes some of them didnt have a pic up before I get accused of being too picky! ), but I only mail the people I think there may be some potential of having a date with them. I cant believe that you found over 100 people that you'd gladly go on a date with! Else what site are you using, because Im on the wrong one!!!

There's a quite enjoyable book by a guy called Sean Thomas about Internet dating as well, which you can pick up quite cheap. I only bought it because I know a guy with the same name and thought it would be a good joke present but it was actually a good read.

I've met so many nice people on PoF but but as a someone looking to meet new people and hang out- I am second class citizen. :-)

Anyone want to hang out with me this weekend and do something- anything? PM me if yes. Feel free to let me know if I have just committed a major boards faux pas.

Its a dating site afterall.. people are on there to meet others who want to date and see where it goes.

I really dont know why it has a "hang out" option.

To me thats a nicer way of saying intimate encounter.

I see it like that, after all it is called a dating site for a reason... if someone wants to make friends the last place they should look is a dating site!!

But I don't know of any other such sites that cater to people looking solely to meet people with similar interests to hang out with- dating sites are convenient that way.

You could join a club or perhaps go to a boards meetup? That is a sure fire why of making friends!

Remember a dating site is for people who want to date so I think it is understandable if people get pissed off if there are people on there with no interest in dating, and anyway by putting "hang out" you are a sure target for people just wanting sex etc... at least in my opinion.
