With the exception of Mothers - the rest are all public sector more or less.

What do you do, when you're not doing gigs up in Mayo?

Those pesky Civil Servants modding Boards and eating our Kittens. Of course Christmas is their favourite time of the year as well so they can dress up as Santa and beat children in orphanages with puppies.

What other job provides this as an alternative to playing Partnership Farmville all day?

Either that or on social welfare. Same thing really. Just the money is more gigantic.

Seriously though, I expect that just about every mod on boards is a civil servant. Who else has this much time to arse around on line all day and not worry about getting sacked?

Also I have notice that any threads pointing out the civil service for what it is - so few bolded names - yet if someone comes in with a snotty comment about how important the civil service is and why someone should have a massive salary for life and pension, no quesitons asked - the thumbs ups contain nearly all the mods!

Don't be under the miss-conception that all private sector workers are flat out. One of the most frequent posters in Irish Economy forum is an IT worker for the private sector by his own admission.

Is my Sig too big again?
Why does it let me use it if it's too big?

I know a few civil servants and they tell me their Internet access is fairly limited; in other words, there are lots of sites they can't access, attachments they can't download, and so on.

How could they do a moderator's job then?:)

I have it on good authority that KeithM89 is in fact Joan Burton.

I thought that KeithM89 was the actor the late Ian Bannen, or so his avatar suggests anyway.

A moderator on foot.ie who has 20,000 posts is a civil servant. A damning indictment of that department's IT policies.

    fool.ie more like

Can't get into Boards in the Department I work in - and I'm able to access far more sites than most as I'm in IT.My first job in the private sector though - lets just say there was a good deal of file sharing and Red Alert 2 marathons. With my boss's consent I might add.

He really is Teddy, but he doesn't like to talk about it. ;)

Slash the dole. Tame the unions. Close the schools. Burn down the hospitals.

There you go OP. I am not a civil servant.

And I still think you're talking a complete load of crap probably motivated by some ban you probably deserved which you probably think is unfair even though it almost certainly wasn't.

So you know. Cry it out and move on with your life.

I think that's a bit of a grey area as far as OurLadyofKnock is concerned.

I've interacted with the OP of this thread before. He usually spends his time trolling the Commuting and Transport subforum with this kind of nonsense.

Looks like he/she has decided to go bigtime in AH.

I worked as a clerk in the public sector. Very mediocre money - low 20s. But a minority of senior staff earn high salaries so therefore all do.
Private sector works the exact same way, but let's leave out things like facts.
My father worked in construction in the public sector - funnily enough, the equivalent jobs in the private sector would have paid him a lot more...
