I'm not dilated enough for them to break my waters (although she did try to stretch things dear lord it hurt) but I am getting contractions. So got more gel so unless things start moving on there own baby won't be here till tomorrow.

Java trust me on this: induction is fine if you or babs needs it but really other than that you do want to go naturally :)
    .

Hopefully it speeds up for you cyning, have you any pain yet???

Thanks for keeping us posted about your induction-it does seem less scary!

WWC1 yes, cranky as a bag of cats I am! I have this itchy spot on my belly too that's not helping! Snapped at boyfriend the other night for something stupid, and when I apologise he says its ok, I'm used to it! Looking for a slap sometimes I think he is!

In other news, I just saw an old woman at a bus stop giving the flirty eyes at an old man walking past, found that hilarious, don't know why! Mad I'm gone. And developing a liking for talking like yoda apparently.

Cyning I hope things will go quicker.

WWC i still have 17 days to go but I hope baby will decide to arrive soon. im so tired

hubby is pissing me off today as well.
I send him text today that im going to take a nap and I will call him when I wake up
and he called me few minutes after I fall a sleep with stuipid question
I wasnt able to fall a sleep again. :-/

Nyquist Freak – that’s gas about the flirty oldies . Think I’m losing it too, I can’t watch that new Beds e&c add…where the dog is lying on the bed and a spring pops up…the end bit weird’s me out even more, he’s lying on his side like super porn dog or something. Find it very unsettling…

Saurelin – that way these July babies have been appearing it could be sooner than 17 days  Agh, v frustrating when that happens…

Cyning – hope things have started to speed up…can’t wait to see your “Baby is here” post 

A big fat yes to the pain :( I've sent hubby home to eat and rest for awhile because they probably won't try anything else untill tomorrow. So if I go myself (without any further gel etc) it will be a looong night.

If not I'm likely to be as cranky as a bag of thistles come tomorrow.

I have no toy for baby either: and now that I've typed that I've started to cry I swear to god the hormones will not be missed.

Oh loads of news in here today!
Think of you Cyning and Kash in hospital now!!
I'm back home, thank god! Got my BP down low, so on the tablets till I have the baby, junior is head down but not engaged and is "A good size, but not a sumo baby"??? WTF???
Turns out the awful consultant on Tuesday didn't even tell me I had to take the tablets at certain times of the day! No talk of having to induce me, and I'm back for a routine check up on Tuesday! :D

That's good news re the bp ginny.

Wwc1 that animated dog on beds etc ad freaks me out too. It's just the worst animation I've ever seen, it really bugs me.

Went to see a 2nd hand corner couch that I'm getting. Picking it up sat, so will now have comfy place to feed baby and I can seat more than 2 guests in living room.

The girl who has replaced me on one of my jobs is still making huge errors after a month so I have to retrain her tomorrow and probably Monday. I don't have a problem if someone takes a really long time to get the hang of something, it's when they tell you that they understand what you've just shown them but in reality they haven't a notion what you said. I have to get a good night sleep tonight cos I'm liable to be really impatient with her tomorrow and I don't want to be a bitch!

    Yay TwoMums, how exciting!!

My BP is back up (and as all I'm doing is lying down, I have no idea how!) and there is still protein in the urine, so I don't think I'll be getting home this side of the weekend - i'd be surprised if they don't decide to induce me now. But my cervix is still doing its best Gandalf impression ("you shall not PASS!!!!") so im not sure. I just wish they'd make the decision - I hate not knowing what the plan is.

The doctor who saw me this morning has never seen belly oedema like mine before, she even drew a little diagram of it in my notes with question marks! The extra fluid is making it difficult to trace the baby (and my belly hurts like a bitch :( )

On the plus side, my mum has now decided that the cot can finally be allowed in my house, so I'm looking forward to seeing it all made up :)

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,251 ✭✭✭cyning

Still hanging in here guys... It'll be morning probably getting reassessed at 6 am where I am literally praying they can break my waters. Still getting contractions, I hope I'm dilating a bit more and getting stabbing pains down below. They keeping a very close eye on baby too :)

Kash at least they keeping an eye: it's a pain not knowing what's going on though. hopefully they'll make a plan in morning for you.

    Ginny delighted today went well!

This sounds really silly, but the nurse today was telling us how noone ever tells us the proper info when it comes to urine samples. Discharge will show up as protein, as will any leaking waters, as will thrush and thrush medication. She told us you should use a wet tissue to wipe, then give your sample, without touching the vial off yourself. Oh and using a toilet wet wipe will affect the sample too. Just thought I'd pass that on...:)

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,236 ✭✭✭javagal

ginnys right about the protein. ive had it in my urine too but its from the extremely discharge.

all crampy in my back all day and getting a few stabbing pains down there.

Ginny I wouldn't have a hope of getting a pee sample without touching my bits with the pot  but then I've never had a problem with protein in my urine so I guess I'm doing ok :)

Kash not knowing what they have or have not planned must be very stressful! Hopefully they will let you in on a plan of action tomorrow :)

Cyning still keeping fingers crossed for you :D

Mink I'd love a corner unit but our silly room doesn't suit one shape wise :(

Kildareash yep it's going to be a pretty special week - thanks :)

  • Registered Users Posts: 776 ✭✭✭TwoMums2Be

Mink re your cover person - is she making notes on how to do things. In the past when training people in I've found if you get them to write their own notes they have to absorb the info in order to write it down! Might help :)

  • Hosted Moderators Posts: 13,425 ✭✭✭✭Ginny

Yeah I know what you mean 2Mums...:D The nurse was such a dote today, absolute credit to the Rotunda.
She was saying how a lot of people are misdiagnosed with the protein in the sample at a late stage due to discharge etc... Oh and if your BP is high make sure they're using the right cuff, there's a small and a large and if they're using the wrong one there could be a 10% difference!! :D

Have people bought a lot of nappies?
I have the pampers ones(1) from the eumom bag, 2 sets of the Huggies (1) ones, 2 packs of Aldi (1) ones and then the rest are size 2's. The 1's seem to go from 4-11lbs and the 2's are 6-13lbs, in fairness junior is not going to be less then 6lbs so the 2's should be fine I'm assuming!

Can you die of heartburn? I think I'm going to die of heartburn.

Can you die of heartburn? I think I'm going to die of heartburn.

I actually had this same issue few days ago.
Glass of really warm water helped

I'm upset with hubby. We had silent treatment evening (we were doing grocery shopping today and out if blue he was angry with me). When we get hone I asked something and his replay was so upseting that I closed myself in bathroom and spend half an hour crying. When I left he told me he is going to bed. So we still did not talk about whole situation.
    I'm upset and sad.

Sometimes men are such idiots !

still have this horrible dull period pain in my back and stabbing pains in my lower belly . dont think its anything to get too excited about but i kinda hope its a good sign of impending doom. i mean labour!

the hairy baby has never been as clingy to me since we got him. he must know something is up.

my mam dropped over zoes swing chair thing and it makes various sounds like Mozart, rain, birds and womb noises. turned it on and Kojak came and put his head on my belly. first time so far. probably a you stay put warning to zoe!

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,236 ✭✭✭javagal

think zoe might be on her way!

Java - sounds like you're making progress. Keep us updated.

Hope you're doing well too cyning.

Ladies I know this might sound a bit strange but I'm terrified about what's going to happen after the birth and when all the fuss around the new baby dies down. I don't have any family close by and my friends are really busy (doesn't help that I was busy for so long that didn't get to spend near enough time with people and would feel bad calling on people now that I'm at a loose end). So last night I made a list of all the things that I can do but I know I won't feel like doing half of them (bootcamp with baby, special screenings of films at the cinema with baby, baby massage, breastfeeding support groups etc.) I've been prone to bouts of depression before and I just want to avoid that at all costs... anybody else feeling like this?
