It's been a ride. From everything with Frankie to the risk's elimination to talks of fix after fix it's been eventful as usual. But I have to say it'll be missed. Roll on August.

In the end the deserved act won!!

Have to say I'll miss posting here for the next while!:D

Errr, firstly they're not a 'band' - instruments are a prerequisite for a band. You are indeed right - none of the other judges could have done it since the producers do it - the xfactor is one huge cod, the script and outcome of which is worked out from the get go of the 'competition' :D

Just noticed this delightful bit of pedantry, as if calling Little Mix a band rather than a group makes any difference to the point I was making. And of course there's a lot of producer interference, but it's blatantly obvious Little Mix weren't the act they were pushing for the win 'from the get go'.

And with that I'm off, probably won't be back next year as X Factor's lame and I have way too much of a social life >_>

Just watched the show there now because I was busy earlier. I'm happy with Little mix winning but I'm gutted because I thought Marcus' version of Cannonball was much better and he really gave it everything in his final performance. I don't like Little Mix version at all and ain't too happy about having to listen on the radio every hour between now and Xmas.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,383 ✭✭✭emeraldstar

No way. I thought Marcus's version was far worse. Really bland and flat.

I agree...but I bet in Ireland they'll play the Damien Rice version a bit more...It will definitely make his name more popular on radio now, which is good.

I remember last year they played Biffy Clyro - Many of Horror, a couple of days after Matt Cardle won and somebody text into 2fm and said 'Who's covering Matt's song already' lol

well done Little Mix. the right act one. they were all shíte, but the right act won (i.e. the least shít and most likeable).

but, what will stick in my mind from that final are 2 things...

    1) as bland as Coldplay are, their performance embarrassed everything else by the contestants; and,

    2) i've heard two of my favourite songs butchered, maimed and destroyed by the Cowell machine this weekend, and i need retribution somehow. "Hurt" was galling enough, but the attempts by both to cover "Cannonball", a song I delighted in from a solid year back in the early part of this decade, almost made me want to cry.

    appalling.

i just hope everyone who heard the melody tonight, finds Damien Rice's version this week as a result, realises how tragic Little Mix's version is, and somehow makes Rice's no.1, or at least give it a ridiculous run for its money.

Just watched the show back and Little Mix were the clear winners tonight - that Silent Night was stunning in fairness! Perrie has some voice! I was beginning to well up but I stopped myself!!

If week 6 went to deadlock, Misha would have been out!! I was right when I said that her second place would have come after a bottom 2 performance - week 7 she got 22.5% of the vote. Week 4 she was saved over Sophie, when she got .3% less of the vote

Deadlock in week 8 would have also seen Misha out - 4% less than Janet. Fair to say that when Amelia got back in, it seemed to hurt Janet the most votes wise

Didn't Sami get eliminated in Week 2 after the sing off? According to this it should have been Kitty against Frankie, or is it just a mix up?
