Speed, while indeed a factor, is not the only one leading to accidents and is blamed too much when a lot of major roads could do with higher speed limits if the bog awful standard of driving in the country was tackled.

Not just the standard of driving, the standard of the roads as well.

Just back from Germany, when my brother picked me up from the airport we came along a stretch of autobahn where the speed limit had been reduced to 80 because of the state of the road. That road was in a better condition than ANY road I have seen in Ireland in the last 3 years.

"Scumbags" are fundamentally the same as most people and their behaviour is mostly due to their circumstances (though this doesn't absolve them of blame for their action) and not being inherently bad people.

While there are some very intelligent, articulate and probably good-looking people on here producing many interesting discussions, the level of debate here can be atrocious at times and consist of people with ill-informed opinions, often based solely on personal prejudice, they have no intention of examining let alone changing.

Grammar Nazism is rude, but grammar, punctuation and spelling are very important, and there's a number of people on Boards who have no idea how to write at a functional level which communicates their ideas in a basic way (though I'm sure they're the minority).

The thanks system is great and people who complain about "thanks whores" are just jealous because they wish they had more thanks.

We are a bit too passive as a culture and as a nation we have a massive drinking people that a lot of people are defensive and in denial about, but overall this is a great place to live.

I think Rihanna is way over-rated. If being dirty is a measure of how sexy a girl is, than I've seen far more "sexier" women in my life-time (heck every pornstar that ever lived). In terms of having a nice body, she doesn't hold a candle to her contemporaries Beyonce and Nicki Minaj. I'd even wager that Katy Perry has a nicer body than her, and she's a white chick!

And she pollutes the air-waves with the same generic "look at me, I'm mad for the ride" type of song.

They had a "Look like Katy Perry" segment on Off the Rails there last week. And the model was the bulb off Katy Perry and much prettier.

FFS If given enough of a budget a skilled make up team could make me look like Katy Perry!

Mohammed ali was always overrated, him at is best would not have been able to handle Larry Holmes (beat an old Ali I know), Mike Tyson. He only beat George Foreman because he got into his head and George could not handle it.

He is also a racist and then had the cheek to turn up at Joe Frazier’s funeral, even though it’s well known Joe hated the man.

Without going off topic, and not saying it's amazing or anything given the piss-poor standard of music these days, but she's actually the only artist to spend 52 successive weeks in the chart. And her album Teenage Dream is only the second album to have had five number ones.
