31 Mill well spent for Cavani there. Bought him with Spurs in my game in my second year in charge and he scored over 40 goals in his first season.

Think I played him as a complete forward but can't remember. Won me the league though! Scored some vital goals vs the top teams!:D

Seems like somehow iv taken Sunderland to the edge of financial disaster... the finances are terrible i blame the accountants and i only took in one player of note so far this year at 12 million while selling players worth six... yet now we cant pay our wages and im 48k pw under wages... and iv made sure most players have less wages than the start of season, football is a tough thing to manage:mad:

I signed him in January in my first year when the board decided to give me a load of unexpected money. He's been overshadowed by Damiao this season though, who I play as a target man.

I make a cheeky loan bid for him as San Marino. Chelsea accepted it, but Lukaku wasnt at all interested. Shocker, right? :pac:

Newcastle United 10 - 0 Sunderland (Premier Division)
Newcastle United fans celebrated an emphatic 10 - 0 win at St. James' Park this afternoon. The game will be remembered for a remarkable display of goalscoring from Newcastle's Stevan Jovetic.
Midfielder Jonás Gutiérrez got Newcastle United off to a flyer by scoring a real poacher's effort after just one minute. Striker Stevan Jovetic doubled Newcastle United's lead with a deflected fierce shot on 16 minutes.
Rodrigo scored with a tidy finish in the 30th minute to extend the lead further. Tireless midfielder Ruben Yttergård Jenssen then added to the lead with an incisive finish on 36 minutes.
Sunderland's Wes Brown received the red card for a professional foul with 46 minutes on the clock. An error from Sunderland's Michael Turner allowed Jovetic to score a tap-in. Yttergård Jenssen added his 2nd goal of the game with a close range header on 61 minutes.
Yttergård Jenssen added his 3rd goal of the game with a well struck effort on 68 minutes. Jovetic added his 3rd goal of the game with a diving header from within the six-yard box on 70 minutes.
Wonderkid Vaclav Kadlec then added to the lead with a fierce shot on 78 minutes. There were no prizes for guessing who completed the rout on 85 minutes as that man Jovetic popped up again with an incisive finish.
Newcastle are currently nine points behind league leaders Man City with three games in hand.
Man of the Match: Stevan Jovetic (Newcastle)
    Attendance: 60,000

    :D

Got offered the Ireland Job after Chris Hughtons disastorous reign,

Ireland now 61st in the rankings and i'm 6 points behind Germany for WC Qualification. Should be interesting

Complete overhaul of the Ireland team needed

started unemployed with ireland england scotland and wales available.
was offered the finn harps job after about 4 months, been there since. Been a cup specialist (4 senior challenge cups, 2 league cups, one all ireland cup) before finally overhauling shamrock rovers last year to win the league and end their 6 in a row.

Just played my first game in the champions league...in front of 500 at finn park!!!

    BTn2o.png

10/1 outsiders so its to be expected, but im ahead of barcelona in the league!

Haven't played in a couple of weeks now..

Was doing quite well with Brentford, 4th in the league but then the St Pats job came around and well how could I resist so I'm now 3rd in the Airtricity League!

Also playing as Bordeaux in the same save. My worst, yes worst event In my FM career was the delegation of the team. They were 16th when I took over, I got together some decent runs of games but then there was an implosion.

Have sent the scouts far and wide and have 2/3 players for large amounts to cover my finances as we push to go back up!

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,732 ✭✭✭Reganio 2

Gonna start a game as 2 managers, decided I will try have a long game which I haven't had since my first save on this (Which is true of all FM's in fairness :D) so I said I will start as my 2nd club, Strasbourg, and some other random team who I haven't decided yet, thinking Spurs, but tempted for Chelsea or Nigeria as well :D.

Was on a 46 game unbeaten run in the premier league only 4 matches away from beating Arsenals record and they beat me 2-0 in the 47th game :( then lost to Man Utd 1-0 and off the back of those two losses working on a 4 game won in a row streak :)

3 seasons in with Longford Town. 7th in my first season, 3rd in my second and 2nd and playoff losers in my third.

To be fair, I've stuck to signing players from a realistic commuter distance, kind of feels like cheating to sign a squad full of English and Scottish league rejects for a part-time 2nd tier club from Ireland.

  • Registered Users Posts: 164 ✭✭louthguy25

So after all my hard work Sunderland still go into receivership with 5 games left of the January transfer window with me sweating on players being sold.... Managed to survive without anyone bidding but then iv to deal with the 9 point deduction  and i went from level pegging with City to 5th

The lads performed brillaintly losing only one in the league for the rest of year i end up 7 point behind City in second:mad: i could have won the damn thing again :mad::mad:

Went to the semi finals in champs league were Madrid stuffed me 6-2 pver 2 legs, i also beat City 2-0 in the Fa Cup. Served a touchline ban and the team won 7-0 game after, and in the next match the quater final of the champs league we were 4-0 down to Lyon and we manage to win 8-0:D absolute madness

Thankfully now out of receivership but oddly offered 66 million iv only spent 6 of it on young players i did bid 36 million for Gotze which was accepted but i cancelled it at last minute to let my youngsters have a chance, soft or what?

started at Hamburg where i got sacked after about 10 games after an unbelievably poor start. the only place i could get a job was in japan where lowly sanga appointed me. quit this post after about 6 games as i had no money and the team were useless. i got a job with another japanese team, alberix where i came 6th in my first season and got to the emperor's cup final. in my first full season i came 3rd qualifying for the asian champs league and reached both cup finals (lost both:mad:) started new season reasonably ok and have cruised my asian cham group. the aim is to dominate this season and move to one of the many euro leagues i have running at the same time. what started as a very frustrating game is now quite an enjoyable one

At the 4th time of asking, we've gone up as Champions, hit the front with a 4-2 win on the first day, and never relinquished that top spot even for a day.

Its now January and my decision to not buy Gotze or someone of his stature has backfired. Im lying 5th with equal points as 4th place Liverpool and 1 point ahead of Arsenal. Sanogo continues to blast them in 22 in the league so far but the other strikers have around 12 goals between them which does not make it easy. Mata wont sign on for another season for less than 250k a week which for a 30 year old is too much, looks like i need to buy big again in the summer i just hope i can hold out for my 3rd Fa Cup in a row

Won the league, fa cup, carling cup and reached the CL final with Newcastle, which I lost in the last min to a dodgy offside goal to Barca

Most expensive player I have is Stephen Jovetic at 17 million.
The rest mainly around the 10 million and under mark.

I wonder how cheap you can win the league with, I reckon - very cheap!

I would imagine a team like this would clean up after a bit of development but I'm sure you could go cheaper. I think only the Shakhtar boys would be over £6 million and they wouold still be under £10 million I think. I have never bought the Ajax guys at the start of a game so unsure what they would cost, never cost be much after a season or two. Not sure what keeper.

You'd be fecked for the homegrown and club grown quota for the CL though. Unless you pack the rest of your squad with ressie and youth players

Junior Hoilett is HG and only about 2 million. He'd be a good option on either wing

Reckon you could do it without spending a penny with Man City. Maybe Man United aswell.

I don't think that should be possible to win EPL in second season with so little money. No matter how good you perform, Man City or United, should always be far too good for that to happen.

I'll let you know, currently top of the league with my newly promoted Southampton, 6 wins and a draw.
Spent 15 million, Jason Puncheon and Bresson still doing the biz with Darwin Quint carrying on where he left off last season

But then the fixtures have been kind, played all the promoted teams and the biggest team played was Spurs who I beat away

One striker wanted out coz he wasn't getting games. I accepted his transfer request. Nobody wants to buy him so now he has asked me stay!
