Have any of you read the spoilers that came from 4 Chan? The person who posted them revealed the length of the trailer and the setting correctly, so the other stuff he posted looks like it will be legit too.
He got the time wrong, he said the trailer would be 1:04 long whereas it's actually 1:25. He also said the protagonist would be a Hispanic gang-member, but in the trailer he appears to be a white guy from out-of-state. All he got right was that it was in San Andreas, but that was pretty easy to guess as all the rumours pointed in that direction.
Vercetti being the main character could be a fit, albeit with a different voice actor.
He talks about being a 'good guy' and a 'family man', etc.
Plus his age would be about right.
Tommy Vercetti was in his mid-30s in Vice City and this game takes place 26 years later, putting him around the 60 mark. Unless Rockstar adds mobility scooters to the game, Tommy is not going to be in it.

I think this could be true, sounds very Hispanic at the start.

The guys on GTA Forums that read way too far into things came up with a good one for figuring out the release date.

2405 features as the address to the guys house (and it appeared on the plane at the end of TBOGT, too). It's also Dan Houser's birthday, I believe.

Anyway, a poll went up on GTA Forums before. The question was "1102" and the two answers available were "204" or "5 guys, 5 bullets, 5 letters".

Now, no one seems to be close to the 5 guys one (though some speculate the 5 letters are AGENT and that's a cover up, because they were actually working on IV and pretending it was Agent they were working on, and they reckon 5 guys could hint toward multiple protagonists).

    Anyway, the question was 1102. The trailer aired on that date (11/02/11). 2405 is a dominant number, as is 204, so the theory is;

If today is the 2nd of november (trailer release date) (1102), add 204 days (204), and it's the 24th of May (2405).

Could be a load of bollocks, but there you go. (also, the band that do the theme song, released their album, with that track on it, on th 24th of May, 1968)

Personally, I think it's very cryptic, but very accurate. There are too many coincidences amidst all that for it not to have been intentional.

That said, I think there are then some people that are looking a little too far into it... though maybe he's onto something... (doubtful)...

    7.jpg

The License plate # is 04EAY868

    E A & Y are 5-1-26 in number form

    So that is 045126868

And outta that I see 2405. That leaves us with 16868

Ok this is were it gets confusing so watch.

    86
    +86

6+6 is 12 but were not carrying the 1 over from the 12 ok? subtract 8 from 8 and that is 0 Now take 1 that was left over and add it with the 1 that we didn't carry over from 12 and add 1+1 which is 2

    AND THAT EQUALS!!!!!

    24052012

    THAT'S F**KING MAY 24TH 2012!

But ya never know with Rockstar!

The birdge in the trailer is the R* version of the Vincent Thomas Bridge in LA, not the Golden Gate bridge in SF.

Pretty sure the only city shown in the trailer is Los Santos and the surrounding countryside.

If we do get to see more cities I think they will be major DLC/expansions, "GTA V : San Fierro" etc.

I think i might have an idea who could be the character speaking and/or the older dude who people are assuming is Tommy Vercetti.

    I'll try and debunk it being TV first;
    1. Vice City was set in the 80s, tommy was about 30, so he would need to be around 60 in this game. He speaks about his kids growing up, unless he had kids in the last 10 or so years, they are going to be older than how he is explaining how he wants to interact with them.
    2. He mentions moving for the weather.
The weather isnt all that different from VC, so that doesnt really hold water.

Im gonna put forward Claude (from GTAIII and SA) as the title character and/or the older guy seen in the trailer.

In Claudes backstory he was a street racer in SA and subsequently moved to LC and became the main protaginist of GTAIII.
GTAIII was set 10 years ago and if Claude was 34ish then, he would be about 44 now, a good age to stick on the guy in the GTAV trailer.

To want to move to SA for the weather, your gonna want to have to move from somewhere dreary and unlike SA's atmosphere.
Where better than the GTAIII rendition of LC?
Also, he has a familiarity with SA, so it wouldnt be like moving to a new place entirely.

Also, when you look at his facial features, its easy to spot similarities than TV:

Reading that quite a lot and I hope it's not true.

I don't think Rockstar are that bad, are they? Their DLC for IV wasn't very conjob-ish in nature, so I reckon they won't try pulling that one on people.

Towards the end of the trailer, at 1:03, the landscape shot it shows, you can see pretty much the entirety of Los Santos and as it's cityscape rolls into the background, there's a fairly busy four lane motorway leaving the city to the left of the screen.

I doubt they'd put a motorway like that to a mountain, so I'm assuming it's to one of the other cities.

I really, really hope that's not the case. It would absolutely ruin it. This is gonna be the biggest game out there once it hits, so I'd like to think they have the decency not to try and squeeze more out of us with that.

But going on the trailer I don't think that'll be the case. You get to see the mountains/desert-like areas. We'll probably see more cities in later trailers.

You could be onto something. I don't get why pple think he is hispanic. Why would a mexican move to California for the weather?

I wouldn't mind this if the DLC just added another large section to the map. I'd prefer if they did San Andreas properly if that means having to buy two additional DLC I'd be up for it. Say if the DLC saved parts of the map to your hard drive making a massive state with three cities and countryside filled with towns, villages etc. Maybe its too ambitious but I think it would be awesome.

He could be Hispanic but have been living somewhere in the US with **** weather. He's obviously involved in crime so could be anywhere.

Also, his voice is clearly hispanic sounding. Straight away I thought of CJ's hispanic buddy from San Andreas (Not saying it's him, but that they sound similar)

Cesar? Now that would be cool! Though would he be too old as well, it's about 20 years after GTASA, so he'd be tipping mid-50's now.

Yeah! I don't think it'll be him. But straight away that's who popped into my mind. He was a cool character

he taught me the word "ben-decho!"(can't spell) :)
It would also give them a reason to bring CJ and Sweet into it as well. :) (Haven't finished GTASA so if Sweet dies I don't want to know.)

What about Phil Bell as main character? It's only five years after GTAIV, he could have young kids now, and he might have left LC after the events of GTAIV.... just a thought.

EDIT: it's been a while, I can't remember if he said he'd never get married again or not....
wasn't he always hanging around with Pegorino's wife though? And since he dies....

If that I could. :( I could never get my pilot's licence, so I never made it past the desert. :(

It's most likely not Cesar given that he'd probably be too old, but it'd be nice if he made an appearance.

why are people assuming that the older guy is the guy talking in the trailer? There is a black/hispanic guy that you see a few times as well, could just as easily be him! The voice sounds hispanic, nobody will change my mind on that, it's certainly not an Italian voice.

You are missing out on some great scenes, you also get to meet maccer and kent paul, some of the best characters in GTA :D. Although Kent was in Vice City.

Trust me, I know. I was using an FAQ/Walkthrough, and I read on and some of the missions sound epic. Plus, I've never actually seen the riot scenes. *sigh* must get a PC copy and get a save or something. :)

Was he not in Vice City too, albeit very briefly with Avery (the Texan property developer)? Maybe it was VC Stories or even LC Stories I'm thinking about.

What's this talk about Agent? I highly doubt that R* were working on GTAIV under the guise of Agent. Seeing as Agent is a PS3 exclusive, and with the money Sony has pumped into it (via LA Noire), it must be a seperate project. Either that or GTAIV will be PS3 exclusive or wtih a shed load of extra contents for PS3.
