Given that many areas have flooding in the sewers could I ask people who live above ground floor apartments to hold off on flushing the toilets. Pee in the sink or something.

That flooding in that apartment complex is likely partly comprised of sewage.

Sorry just took a massive dump after a feed of Guinness. Afraid its coming your way

slurry market? sheep brothel? no need to be a dick

Wasn't being a dick. Just responding in kind to the comments I saw. I already posted that I meant no offence. Just sharing the "laugh" that everyone else was having. This is AH after all.

Went to the cinema to avoid the worst of the crowds on the train, thinking that was a smart idea. However, when I got to the station and found there were no trains, it wasn't as clever...
Nothing like a nice walk home, then water up to your shins, watching waves of dirty rain water sluice towards you as you go down the flooded Coast Road. Getting into work tomorrow will be fun! Despite the pain of it though, I was able to move faster than the bus. I imagine there'll be a few people trapped tonight.

It's certainly very brown... but at least it doesn't smell yet.

Whew! I guess that's something. It's the older places where some surface drains feed into sewers that get problems. There's dark black liquid coming up in the baths of the apartments below where I live in Kilbarrack. That can't be good.

There was a weather warning yesterday predicting rainfall of 70 mm. Not too far off.

I was due to finish in UCD today at 6:00pm. Coincidentally I got a headache and went home at about 14:00pm. If I had stayed until 6:00pm I doubt I would have been able to get home.

Another photo from the sweepstakes. The cars out the front are completely underwater now. Out the back - all you can see is this:

    http://i1210.photobucket.com/albums/cc412/nibtrix/image-5.jpg

On the left you can see all the bins which have floated out of the underground car park and are emptying themselves around the complex...

Ah come on now... it's hardly a state of emergency in fairness.

    PORT TUNNEL ANYONE, STATUS?

From RTE (time 2125) : Long delays on Northbound section of Port Tunnel

Also one lane of M1 northbound closed between Airport and Balbriggan.

I'd say unless it's an emergency better to get a cheap hotel room in Dublin for the night.

But isn't that always the case? Parts of the country get badly flooded every year...can't expect RTE to change their layout because of it.

 I don't even watch tv for more than a few minutes a day at most, and I saw warnings about the rainfall, though they were warning about winds too.
