Interesting move today, Steelers defense on a bye has been dropped, but next week they play Tyler Palko. Bad move I think. Trade processed today for Percy Harvin/Marshawn Lynch, while my Palmer/Celek trade was accepted. The thing with both of these trades is that I was trading away very startable players who were sitting on my bench, to a trade partner who needed the players, and who I would really like to get a couple wins against teams going for a wildcard spot.

And who would like to get a couple of wins himself :-)

I'm assuming there won't be relegation as we are the lowest division, but I'd like to move up from 13th spot just in case!

The problem with my team all season is the complete lack of 'big games'. None of my starters did particularly badly, but never had any 'monster' games either.

Willis McGahee got me a whole -0.2pts last night...awesome

Division 1 about to get real interesting. The top 2 teams are sure to lose while the bottom 2 are sure to win, leaving the records at:
    6-5
    5-6
    5-6
    4-7

But you extend your winning streak to 8, hard to see me catching you, unless it's on points difference, in which case Celek and Pats D had better put in a great show this week. We both have one free win against a poor inactive team and your other game you certainly should win, and I play the team you just beat. I think that's a pattern in our schedules, I play a team right after you play them.

Woo hoo 105 points not only increases the win streak to 3 but it also closes the gap on team better than wesome in points difference to 30. We both play one inactive team in the next 2 weeks so we should both win that and we'd be favourites for our other game too. In division 1, the Clontarf Cheetahs are sort of collapsing, and will probably lose to the Zamunda Zebras this week and be caught by Blacque Power, playing the Tash Ticklers. The only thing near a foregone conclusion is that the Team Of Rivals have won their division.

its hotting up very nicely in division 5....all sorts of options in all the confererences.

I even have a shot at 5-6 to win the division!

Next up for me is the Tash ticklers, no doubt I'll nearly get beaten.

Division 2 very interesting now with 1 game separating all 4 teams. Two divisional games in the next 2 weeks: Green Bay Slackers play the Big Game Bottlers next week, and Washington Generals (that's me) play the Green Bay Slackers the following week.

Question about tie-breakers. Was looking at the rules here and interpreted it that head-to-head record was the first tie-breaker. Why then am I currently seeded 8, and Big Game Bottlers (who beat me) seeded 10 with the same record?

They are NFL tiebreaking procedures not Fantasy Football. As far as i know but couldnt see it in the settings its based on points scored. See if that sorts it out.

    I have a positive points difference at last...unfortunately I'm 4-7!

Hopefully I can get off the bottom of the Division but I have two tough games left...and I'm one of only two teams who don't benefit from a game against the Tash Ticklers :-(

It would be nice to finish 6-7 after an 0-5 start.

Yeah you're right. They have it documented here:
    http://www.nfl.com/fantasy/help/custom-schedule#tiebreakers

Am I right in saying then that a division winner isn't guaranteed a playoff place? I'd assumed it was like the NFL where if you win your division you were in the playoffs, and wildcards were decided then based on records. But looks from reading that, that seeding is purely based on overall record, with ties broken on points scored.

Division winners get in, same as the NFL in that regard. Seeds 1-4 are the division winners and seeds 5-6 are the wild cards. We have a team in Div 1 leading his division with 5-6 and a team with 7-4 outside the playoffs. There is a tab in the league standings page that shows the playoff brackets as they stand now

Yeah I got confused because Clontarf Cheetahs was seeded only (7) on the main standings page despite leading his division, but yeah if you switch to the playoff tab, he's seeded (4).

Now I understand the rules, ahem, shaping up like this: no wildcards from division 1, one wildcard from division 4. Then you've got 6 teams in div 2 & 3 that are either 6-5 or 7-4.

Zamunda Zebras (7-4) are favourite to win division 2.

That leaves one wild-card spot between the other five which Green Bay Slackers (7-4) and Team Awesome (6-5) are favourites to take. (Team Awesome has most points of the wildcard teams).

Other wildcard hopefuls will probably need these teams to lose this week. This makes me kind of pessimistic about my chances, they're both very good looking teams.

Can't thank you enough for beating the Zebras this week. It's set me up beautifully going into the final stretch now.

I'm not trying to boast here but I'm genuinely surprised at how well I'm doing this season. I hadn't a notion at the start. Took me 5 weeks to figure out the waiver system. I've been lucky though. I must have caught most teams on a bad day to have the lowest conceded points in the league.

Gronkowski is a beast. Another 2 TDs from him last night. The only person who's caught more is Megatron, who has caught one more with an extra 150 yards on him. A hero of a man.

Fred Jackson is on IR - there goes my playoff ambitions.

smith could be one of the great one hit wonders this season......

I looked at him and though...hmmmm

    time will tell.

for me its only about weeks 12/13 - sadly for most of us its only about weeks 12/13, so I'm concentrating on winning those two.

Lots of close games yesterday, with many still up in the air going into tonight's fantasy feast, and they're all key games. By this time tomorrow the Gadsden Patriots and Team Better Than Awesome will both have guaranteed playoff spots, the Team Of Rivals will have secured their division and a first round bye. Division 2 will be completely up in the air with all teams likely having a shot at playoffs. No one will have secured a spot in division 1 either.

I need Hakeem Nicks to score 7 or less (projected: 8.5) to go 7-5 in division 2, and keep my playoff hopes alive.

Not that confident of the Saints secondary bailing me out.

Absolutely ridiculous score from Brees last night. 37 points. Secures me my #1 seed for another week. It also moves me into the top points scorer overall now. I've broken 100 so many times at this stage I've lost count :pac:

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,098 ✭✭✭Johnny_Fontane

well done. i looked through it earlier, my top score for the year is 87.

that said, the only thing that matters is beating lambmuncher to take the lambbowl 2012.

funny thing is, going into final week, I am up against the second seed, he's up against the first!

oh well....twas never to be this year. a learning experience methinks.

Woke up this morning, i was 10 ahead, he had Cruz and i had Ballard and P Thomas, first thing i saw was Cruz had 2 TD's and 157 yds, i was like 5hite.. But cant believe Thomas pulled in 17 points.

I think thats Div 1 for me as i'm one clear and if the deadlock is points scored i'm 135 points up on second place.

Hopefully Mcfadden will be back in 2 weeks for my playoff game.

Woo hoo, I'm now guaranteed to make the playoffs, while the constant no. 1 seed a while back could well miss them.

Things were going so well for me and the Zebras ( I was in preliminary discussions with Roger Goodell about running a future NFL franchise in LA ) but 3 weeks of leaving my top scoring WR on the bench and being to hungover to sort out my RB situation this Sunday has left me in a must win situation.

Although considering its my first effort at Fantasy football and I've been the most scored against team I'm happy out to be still in with a shout come the final week.

Anyone with a half decent RB interested in a trade for Gates, V Jackson or Hernandez
