I'm not a Liverpool fan, QPR actually, so I have no allegiance to either Suarez or Evra.

TBH I don't understand all the Suarez bashing and I think a lot of this witch hunt goes back to the handball against Ghana, which I don't blame him for I would have done the same thing. The ban is a joke and I really hope you go on a run of form and make the top four after this kangaroo court finding.

So Evra saying Suarez isn't racist is something that should be accepted, but Evra reporting him for racism is something that should be dismissed?

What Evra was saying is that Suarez isn't inherently racist; i.e. He doesn't go around calling everyone a variation of the N-word, or other racist terms, every day. Evra, for once, was showing a bit of class and not trying to bury the guy.

This doesn't mean that Suarez didn't say something racist. And this is what he got banned for... saying something racist. The FA haven't said "he's racist, BAN HIM!". They've said "you said something racist, so here is your punishment". The FA aren't judging his character... they judged what he said on one occasion.

Let's be honest here... if the FA banned people because of their character, Suarez would have been banned a long time ago... as would a large % of the premier league.

We could be waiting a while, I assume this is now a police matter so all evidence will be turned over to them rather then for public consumption

Liverpool should tell all their players that it is squeaky bum until the end of the season in terms of how they conduct themselves on the pitch, that they are pretty much not allowed to open their mouths on the field. They should take every single piece of abuse that gets thrown at them in every match (as is part and parcel of every single match from most players), and report every single piece of foul language or abuse that is said towards their players. Every, single, word.

Evra if anything has done the sport a service. He spoke up, told the truth and fought for justice.

8 game ban is not a light ban, it will put other would be abusers off, the fact Suarez was made an example of will go a long way to drumming in the fact racism can or will not be tolerated in this sport
