Wouldn't complain about that with a bicycle and that weather at your disposal...

When you have too much money and no taste you end with this:

18k gold plated Campagnolo Sheriff star hubs, 22k gold leaf Enve logos.

To paraphrase the old stoner mantra: A bike will get you through times of no money better than money will get you through times of no bike.

Does anyone know who those guys were that were selling the cycling glasses at the RDS Cycling Show or any similar operation in Dublin?

There were a few stands with glasses, but if you mean the stand with Oakleys then it was http://www.eyewearoutlet.co.uk/

I am reading The Ras by T Daly at present. A brilliant read. Lively and well written. I think it is a must read by any cycling fan.

Isn't gold like heavy and stuff... Also soft. Other than Lead or Mercury it is possibly one of the worst metals to use on a bike.

Though wheels made from Mercury would have very little friction issues....... Insane speed if you pardon the pun......

I don't think that was the one I was thinking about. It was the one on the right-hand corner near the entrance: 'Outdoor Eyewear' according to the floor plan on the Show's site. Can't find any other info on them.

Gold is very finely malleable and doesn't tarnish, so it's perfect for this superficial application - it's only gold plated.

When I was working in a shop in the U.K. we discovered a gold plated anniversary model Muddy Fox MTB in the basement, the original owner of the shop set up the Muddy Fox company and as it happens he was a Greek too (well a Cypriot, not sure if that makes a difference!) I wonder what ever happened to the bike

That's a dodgily replaced fork alright, those bikes are terrible anyways but it looks like he's made a half arsed attempt to upgrade it but almost killing himself in the process!

A man after your own heart. I believe the fork is off the Felt F1 R:

"Felt UHC Ultimate monocoque fork, InsideOut internal molding process, 100% carbon fiber Controltaper 1.125"" --> 1.5"" steerer tube, integrated headset crown race, blades, & dropouts, 304g"

    304g! Imagine the performance improvements!

Did you know that if you leave your bike outside a cafe and go inside, other cyclists who you don't know are permitted to pick it up to feel the weight of it without asking for permission?

If you don't own it and don't know who owns it, don't fúcking touch it!
