I've just watched the farm aid performance where Adler fell at the start before civil war. Also Steven said he had never heard the song down on the farm(which is on the spaghetti incident) and listening to matts recorded version and it sounds the same as Stevens performance that night. So either Steven was talking ****e or duff helped Steven out to the point where he sounded good.

I'd imagine it was Steven talking ****e, given how loaded on heroin he was during that time.

Down On The Farm isn't the most technically difficult song to play on drums

Adler should probably have been given another chance at the time with GNR but he would have only ****ed that up. In all honesty the drug abuse in that band at that time meant that Adler probably wasn't the worst, his only mistake was bringing his dealer to the studio - I believe that's what pissed Axl off

I think i remember reading it in one of Slash's or Duff's books.

  • Registered Users Posts: 48,990 ✭✭✭✭Lithium93_

From what i read in both Slash's book & Duff's, Is Steven was constantly high and his drum takes had to be edited together so Civil War would work, don't recall reading in those books about Steven bringing his dealer to the studio.

And don't know exactly how true this is, but didn't Steven land himself in hot water because he shot Erin up with a speedball of Coke & Heroin - hence pissing Axl off?

That's all it is, just a publicity stunt, can't see Axl cooling off his hate against Slash, besides an original line up reunion wouldn't be best for business, sure Slash, Duff, Izzy, Matt are happy out doing there own thing, Steven i'm not sure about him, he seems to have disappeared....... And if a reunion did miraculously take place in 2 years time....... We all know who the weak link would be.

I'm going to agree and say it was Slash's book if memory serves me correctly

I've got the Blu Ray on order from Amazon US, can't wait till July 1st, just praying they release the package and it's shipped and there's no last minute problems.

A reunion won't happen, but if it did, I'd be very unhappy if it was Sorum over Adler. At that rate you may as well have Gilby over Izzy.

  • Registered Users Posts: 48,990 ✭✭✭✭Lithium93_

I'd rather 3/5 of the original line up reunite than a full blown reunion, Axl, Izzy & Duff, because as far as i know Axl isn't on speaking terms with Steven (Steven's comments before the induction of GN'R into the Rock N' Roll Hall Of Fame) and we all definitely know of the hate towards the top hatted one known as Slash

I went to see a reunion of the Eagles maybe 12 years ago and it was the most awkward show I ever saw. It was clearly just a money spinner for them and there was no chemistry at all on the stage. The same is what I would fear from a GNR reunion. There would be lots of faux arms over the shoulders, smiles and sharing of mics but would be a charade.

IF Ron Bumblefoot Thal really is leaving Guns N' Roses after their 2nd Vegas residency, it would be a huge blow to the band....... If D.J Ashba were fired i'd be damn happy, Ron & Richard > D.J Ashba

After the "performance" they gave in 2012, I don't think I'll bother paying to see them again. I still listen to their stuff, just wouldn't waste my money again

One of the admins on my MYGNR claimed that Ron could be leaving after the residency, i've taken it with a pinch of salt until i see something official from either Ron himself or GN'R management

Would replace this on Chinese Democracy

And put this in it's place

I liked 'Oh My God' but I think, for Axl, the fact that it was out in the public consciousnesses since 1999 meant by the time GNR released 'Chinese Democracy' in 2008 they wanted to be as far removed from that song as possible.
