This is going to have multi-player? It's seems liked it's tacked on to everything these days. Max Payne isn't really a game that lends itself to multi-player, is it?

Neither is Mass Effect, but companies need to add it in so that the Call of Duty idiots will have a better chance of buying the game.

Yeah I'd wish they'd stop to be honest. Games really need to be either Sp or mp only, 1 always gets neglected to shoe the other in. Personally I couldn't care less if there was never again a multiplayer game but that's just me, I enjoy my experience of a game on my own.

Animation is very good, though the aiming looks a bit weird.

    Looks excellent though.

Anyone know if there's an Irish site that'll let me pre-order the Special Ed? Gamestop.ie only have the Standard Ed. Found it on game.co.uk , but I only have a laser card and I doubt they'll accept that.

Has anyone ordered the special ed from Play.com? I'm trying to do it now and it says it can only be delivered to a UK address, even though it's priced in euros, which they say can only be delivered to an address outside the UK....

I don't see how it would work with MP, without the slowmo it's just another shooter and I don't see how they could implement slowmo in multiplayer.

or the developers could stop being lazy or rushed by the publisher and do a decent job of both mp and sp

Problem is, to do mp and sp both to a high standard, games would take longer to develop. Or would need a lot more staff working on it, which would cost money that a lot of developers just don't have at the moment. So it's a case of get sp done to the standard you want, slap in some mp and ship the thing.(or do the mp and slap in some sp in CoD's case :pac:)

the so called call of duty idiots:rolleyes:wont buy a game for sh1te MP.

Maxpayne was always about the SP game so cant imagine the MP being too well developed

EDIT just seen wnolan post above mine and he's hit the nail on the head

New max payne is lookin tasty. particularly the most un-payne look / locations everyone was annoyed about but far as the mp side goes don't need it; not played mp since the noughties when it was all the rage. but now repetitive arenas grate I want a sense of adventure not home ffs .. lot of big titles on the horizon

Gutted. :( Was really looking forward to this....

Although, i guess it makes sense. If they'd released in March, they'd have been going up against Mass Effect 3, another 3rd Person Shooter.

typical. strikes me as a summer title anyhow so no big loss other big releases will tide us over

On reflection it's probably a good thing. I'll be concentrating on Mass Effect 3 for most of March and April anyway, so good not to have the distraction of this.

People give out about games being released and that are not finished, so no harm in it being delayed.

Only thing is they will have no excuses now!

Only picked up on this recently but looking forward to it. Looks fantastic.

Im glad its delayed untill May. I probally wouldnt of bothered with it since Mass Effect 3 is out in March. The first one was one of my favourite ps2 games, but I couldnt get into the second one at all. Might get the ps2 out and give it another go before this comes out.

From the demo of the guy playing it, it looks very easy. I know it could be on an easy setting but just running out in-between 6 people, falling on the ground and still killing them all seems a bit...easy. Even on easy..

    Looks great though! :D

For today only, gamesnash.ie will pay the vat if you preorder max payne 3. Just enter vatfree in discount code and tge total price then will be about 43 euro. Limited code use tho.

I loved mp 1 & 2 but just have no interest in this. Il give it a look when iut comes down in price maybe.

Sounds class tho how you can make a gang in multiplayer and then transfer them into the multiplayer in gta 5.

They say that multiplayer bullet-time will only work on players in your line of sight. How can this work?
Surely it's got to work for people who are in line of sight of you, no?

i.e. turing a corner, you see another player's back, as he's firing on someone else; both of them locked in bullet-time. You're not in his line of sight, so you're not affected. And just blow away both of them at your normal speed. Amirite?

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,182 ✭✭✭Genghiz Cohen

thought someone said that if you can see the player, or the player can see you, bullet time comes into effect.

  • Registered Users Posts: 345 ✭✭spankmaster2000

Also; what about throwing a grenade into the "slow motion bubble"; and then looking away to make it speed up?

Or; a sniper on top of a crane at the other side of the whole map opens himself up to attack if he looks at the party in slow-motion. i.e. someone standing at the bottom of the crane is nowhere near the "slow motion bubble", but is free to look up and shoot the sniper to his heart's content? (at normal speed?)

I realise you guys don't have the answers; but I'm really curious as to how it will work exactly! That said; it's really the single player that I'll be buying this for...

The bullet time in MP seems to not be as slowed down as it is in SP, so it may not be too intrusive when you're not affected by it.

  • Registered Users Posts: 29,483 ✭✭✭✭Zero-Cool

Ah Jaysus, the more I'm hearing about this, the more I want to buy it now! Trophies revealed on on R* website and the trophy whore in me wants this!
