But in light of an increasing demand for my tee shirts , they're now €35 each, no discounts.

    They're flying off the line ... :p

So as not to clog up the page with quotes of that newspaper I see it says dine out for £10. Why dine out in a hurricane?:(

Just the two go front page surprisingly. Some editors still have sense it seems when it comes to weather reporting.

On a side note what has Britain ever done to Katia to deserve a backlash from her :D

All tabloid hacks should be made read this blog repeatedly, with their eyes forced open - aka Clockwork Orange, until it finally sinks in.!!

Even if you transport all the knowledge of meteorology into their heads they will go with the headline that sells papers and misquote warnings and words.

Weathercheck, here's your link for RGEM charts, they can be expected every six hours about 3 hours after time zero (a little before the GFS begins).

    http://www.weatheroffice.gc.ca/model_forecast/index_e.html

The link is to all four menus (00z, 06z, 12z and 18z).

Same site has the global output also somewhat earlier than you'd see it elsewhere.

Regional grid ends at about 18W so as we get closer to the event the final panel may leave you hanging.

Gentlemen (and Ladies) am I detecting a certain amount of excitement/anticipation? Eh? This thread resembles something from After Hours at this stage.. :)

Reading here and other sources are we saying we're going to experience strong winds..but that's it.. ie nothing cataclysmic like the 'vortex of doom' etc. ;)

I live on a hill facing SSW approx 12km from south coast..... I'm praying this fizzles out. Sorry to the storm chasers... I like snow not wind.

Will this storm have much impact in the South East?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,548 ✭✭✭Harps

Nothing major no, the north and west will bear the brunt of it

I said the exact same thing when I joined the weather forum, look at me now! :D

i might tempted to head down to Achill sunday for the drive and see is this something special or is it a "bit windy" in achill. I mean a strong breeze in Achill would be a gale in other parts.

ill take the camera with me and take some pictures.

the step mother said she would have bacon and cabbage ready as well, if i was down, so there is another reason to go. :)

Possibly, a large influx of crows.

I'm tempted to head to Belmullet or Achill Island for this also.

Do you know that spot on the Mullet penninsula - with the fake standing stones - where you can see Achill and the Inshskeas Nacho? I'd say that would be a class spot.

That last storm I drove out to Carniskey strand and was freaked out by small boulders and large seaweed branches thrown 100 metres from the beach on the road down.

Don't think I'll have to travel too far. 1 mile from donegal bay here :)

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,565 ✭✭✭Pangea

I'l probably stay where I am and let the storm come to me as usual lol.
Plus I wouldn't fancy driving if the winds are really strong.
