    So what's the verdict? I'm guessing since he hasn't replied since it may be a fracture.

    I went to Vincents at half 5 yesterday evening.It was midnight before I got x-rayed and then I had to wait til 6 am to see the doctor.

    Unless you have private health insurance (which I dont) the health sector is a fcuking joke.

    Like there was a couple there with their son,he was no more than 12 or 13 and the poor kid could barely stand he was that sick.After waiting for about 4 hours they just got pissed off and left.

    Another guy I was chatting to said his stepson was admitted at 4 o'clock after suffering 2 seizures,was lying on a gurney for 10 hours,had 2 more seizures in that period of time and still hadnt been seen.

    Its an absolute disgrace.

    Well luckily you didn't fracture it.

    But yeah, the healthcare system is terrible. Really awful. :( There's a piece in the Sunday Mail today written by the head of ED in the Mater. I actually hate reading/hearing stories like that. They need to get someone like Michael O'Leary in with a no nonsense stance and sort everything out.

    Its the doctors I feel sorry for.Yer one that saw me too was clearly ridiculously stressed and worn out.We are like a feckin third world country when it comes to things like this.

    Thank the Lord thats the first time Ive had to seek medical attention in a good many years and I hope its the last time for a good many years too!

    That's why so many of the doctors here feck off to other countries. I don't know myself if I'll be able to work here where I qualify. The staff in all areas are stretched and it's bloody frustrating.

    the health sector is a complete joke alright, private is the only way to go but it does cost a hefty amount of money unless you get it as a perk in work. even then you have to pay benefit in kind for it.

    I have private health care and unless you are near a private hospital (and fall ill during their a&e opening hours) you are no different to public patients! Our health care system can be great, it can also be on par with 3rd world countries :mad: glad it's only a sprain Otis!

    First day of my new job tomorrow :)

    Glad to hear it's a sprain and nothing more serious man. Thankfully have avoided the A&E for a few years now, the one in Galway is a disaster. Whole system is in dire need of reform.

    I heard they tried to reform it last year, but Mary Harney actually ate the paper it was written on while ranting about smoking being bad for your health. :pac:
