The show starting at 22:50 seems to have worked out better. Realistically VB doesnt start until 23:15 after news and adds which leaved very little time for a decent discussion.

Bit of a rant here but whats the story with the ****ty paper graphics every night. You can never make out what the paper reads?

The budget for this programme is about €14.

Yeah always impressed with him.. Always makes me think of what Santa looked like when he was a young toymaker, just learning his trade..

I'd like to see Vinny bait that honourable gentleman Denis O' Brien a bit more.

Why do all these union people think that the State must provide all their members with a job.. They have good working conditions, good wages and a good pension.. If they dont like it, LEAVE and get another job...

That way of thinking goes all the way up to the top, sure they even had to make a job for Gilmores wife.

The gave her a lot more than an ordinary Joe Soap though, 92 grand.
A scandal and they got away without en eyebrow being raised by Enda & Co.

It was probably hoping a bit too much to expect Pat Rabbitte to appear on tonight's programme.

Always get the impression that McGuirk doesnt like Vincent Browne, and that Vincent Browne likes Alison O'Conner a bit too much..

At least RTE dont have any controversies over the profit sharing.... They have that nailed for sure..

Ha, Ha..Vincent nearly speechless when asked about his salary !! Love it, now if only someone would put the same question to Joe Duffy !!

    McGuirk is right though.

The rot surrounding Savile shouldn't detract from the fact that the BBC is the best broadcaster in the world.

Joe Duffy doesn't have a salary.

    He charges a fee. ;)

RTE couldn't compete with Sky in regards to rights in international sport, it was just the Irish government forcing the sporting bodies in Ireland to go with the lower offer of RTE

  • Registered Users Posts: 49,731 ✭✭✭✭coolhull

Tallafornia, Gypsy Wedding, Xpose,....all that sh1t would explain why TV3 should't get any licence money.
VB Tonight is the only time I even turn over to tv3

    No mention for Joe. :P

The rot goes right up to the top.

    It may well do.

But the BBC remains the best in the world at what it does.

That there are questions for many people to answer over Savile is undeniable.

That is a personnel issue within the corporation. There are staff problems within every large organisation but it doesn't necessarily interfere with their output.

Ah compared to the overpaid in RTE, Vinny is well worth the money.

    Mary Wilson ... superb????????

I think he's overcompensating seriously.. The show is superb when it is presented by Philip Boucher Hayes.

Who controls and regulates this central pot of money that VB wants for all the media? Some semi state-body that skims off 10% for administration purposes then adds 15% to new version of the license fee.

Vinny was asked one night what his TV3 salary was, he said he was earning €52,000 approximately.

PBH has lost the run of himself on the horsemeat scandal, he may have done a few Primetime reports on the Irish Food Industry that makes him an RTE expert" but he really goes over the top these days. He was telling Mary Wilson last week that we are all dooooooomed from eating contaminated food and its too late for us.
