Income Tax is based on my wages and goes to pay these cretins.
I paid for my house and site and it's none of their business or concern.

    Oh yeah?

So, what about the income I earned that I put in the bank - the Government still take DIRT from that?

If I want to buy a house, what about the stamp duty on that?

What business is it of theirs to put excise on my pint?

You can make the same argument for not paying any tax - we just seem to have a particular issue, surprise surprise, with one based on property.

I voted for John McGuinness in the last and previous elections, he always said what he believed and Bertie and Brian Cowen didn't always like it, and he paid for it.

I never voted for Phil Hogan so I can't take blame for him :pac:

He makes a reasonable point that the media, expecially State media, have a duty to pick stories not just based on how sensational they are.

    Anyway, bedtime.

    Awful day.

Vb is right. how can rte justify the costs of a crew out in Mauritius for at least 6 weeks. Its a joke. And other reporters sent to Africa and south America recently for reports on relatively irrelevant matters too. sigh

    She looks like Michael Jackson.

I have found the case interesting but there certainly is a bit too much of the Princess Diana feel about the media coverage of it.

The FF government meltdown was his golden age. FG are a bit more careful on who he gets as a guest and he has completely failed to get Paschal to lose his cool.

People are interested in it. RTE would also have been criticised if they hadn't sent somebody out there.

Ah they aren't really. Just rte shovelling stuff down our throats again and trying to use up. some of the 200 million they get from taxpayers each year.

They are out there because its gossip and nothing else. I hate gossip.

"There are vested interests who don't want a Banking Inquiry" -- John McGuinness.
Now why does that not surprise many people?

No surprise at all. See what Dick Roche is up to now? He's becoming a lobbyist, and he's lobbying for the banks to get an easier ride when they're being examined by the EU watchdogs.
