  • Registered Users Posts: 68 ✭✭bertiecont

could be helpful later if they can get him a minute of so up the road!

  • Registered Users Posts: 68 ✭✭bertiecont

gilbert looking for some 'sliding room' on the last climb so he doesn't lose too much time overall!

Gilbert is unbelievable. He has caught the group in front.

Gilbert will still lose a few mins on the final climb i'd say. Hes gone up the road for damage limitation to be fair.

Nico must be feeling pretty damn good as they have sent Riblon up the road.
Has Riblon not been out there for ages?!

No Kadri has been out since early doors. Riblon was with Nico and JC Peraud on the last climb and just jumped before Gilbert on the decent there.

The fact AG2R have left only Peraud with Roche tells me Roche is feeling strong and things strategically having men up the road for later in the climb will be better.

    Roche cycling with Voeckler.... :D

Id blame the riders over the team. They know their own bodies the yshoudl have pushed back that they werent right to go.
Roche himself said that Gadret did not want to do the tour. His team insisted.

Probably true but the official line is that Gadret had "earned" the choice to ride the tour if he wanted due to his performance at the Giro.

No doubt they heavily reccommed he ride but if he was knackered he should have resisted for the sake of the team.

Big effort by Tommy thats what the yellow does for you. He will be spent after today. Expect him to lose a bucket of time tomorrow having defended the jersey today.
