Upgraded my angel eyes to white :)
Had to remove the whole headlight unit as mine is the LCI version...took me about 30 mins for the first one with much roaring and cursing...
Second one took about 3 mins :D

Bought some cheap-o spot lamps last night,

Bolted em to the nudge bar this morning before work to see how they fit, but need to wire them up tonight, not my strong point so hopefully I dont make a bolix of it!

Also got a new socket for the trailer light connection, very mundane stuff but has to be done,

The money had to go on something much more sensible and not car related:(

Today I blew a conrod out through the side of the engine of my 2000 Maxda 626 1.8 saloon.
Sweet car -97K - belts done at 85K -two new rear brake calipers fitted in the last month.
AirCon rad done 1 year ago.
    Looks like new .
My own fault, I drove it through a deep puddle :(

Now sadly standing in my drive with a sheet of plastic under it to catch any more oil drips.

The end of a long love affair. It going to be crushed before the end of the month.

    The search begins for another.....

    A.

A failed attempt at wiring in this horn:

Yes, that's on a Bravo and we have 2 of those horns

All was going well on the 406...
    Image2177.jpg

    Then found this!
    Image2176.jpg

    French electrics eh... :pac:

I tore out that stupid alarm you see in the photo too

Then ran out of light

So I ended up making a vid of the yellows. There is a noticeable difference over the previous full beams, much brighter. However the Nokia doesn't quite capture that too! Oh well...

I taught you were gonna have some roadkill at 0:56 seconds in. They really do light up the road well. I use the nightbreak plus bulbs myself.

Ironically, I hit a hare with another Bravo and it blew the front bumper to bits... And the car made soup of that hare! To replace that bumper, I got a Marea front including bumper and wings (they are different)

    As for the bulbs...

    Thursday - bought it.

    Friday - polished it.

Asked the dealer not to valetit or wash it before I collected it so it wouldn't get any worse. Got a free tank of fuel instead, win-win!

Small mod: Changed the screws on the adjustable spoiler to stainless steel, cheap to do and looks alot fresher.

    Old - vs - New

Lads and ladies, I bought a 07 Focus last week. Planning to buy a set of alloys in a few weeks when I have the money. Anyway, on the way home I lost a wheel trim. Anyone know where I could get one?

There was a full set on gumtree for £30. No way I'm paying that and driving to pick it up when I only need one.

Drive it on for the few weeks, no point in throwing money at it.

So today I collected my car from the body shop. I got the following done:

*The whole body made good, removed all dings and rust.
*Topmix spoiler removed and holes filled, plus boot delocked.
*Protruding block removed, which used to hold the front registration plate and debadged.
*Full respray of original Icelle Blue colour.
*Windows tinted to a more than legal shade and sun strip too.
*Alloys refurbed and painted to a darker silver.
*Calipers painted and new green stuff pads fitted.
*All 4 brake dust shields replaced.
    *Underbody complete under seal.
    *Real leather seat retrims installed.
*The air intake (plenum) painted silver.
*Engine cover painted blue and all fluid caps painted blue.
*OE spoiler painted too (but not installed, I want to keep it bare ass for now)
*Rear tail lights tinted black (will be going darker)

There are a couple of imperfections in the paint finish to be sorted out. I will also be removing the blue fly eyes kit from the headlights and having them polished.

Previously done since I got the car in October 2011:

White Glow Dial kit for dash. Chrome dial surrounds and needle cups installed. Custom LED lights in arm rest. LED lights in footwell. New HID lights. Induction kit. Rally art pedals. LED gear knob (leather). Apex lowering springs. gps tracker. All belts changed. Water pump changed. All fluids changed. Rear brake discs upgraded to drilled and grooved (front were done already). 2 din DVD player. new centre caps and mitsubishi badges on centre caps. mitsubishi wheel dust caps. Quad exhaust installed.

The whole process can be seen => http://fto-ireland.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=13627

But here is the car now.

    OOPS! :D

Are those the new seat covers Goz? The fit is still a bit off :(

Love the new paint, that particular fto you bought was always a stunner, nice to see it in such great shape, the bare ass look really suits it.

Yep, they're the new trims Colm. The lads spent a good while fitting them. They look much better in the flesh and they're quite comfortable too. There is a big difference between the leatherette and the real mccoy.
