John Gaa's time has come and gone. Top player on his day but his pace is gone.

Worth a try FB?? Not exactly blessed with options there.

Anyone interested in a free child's ticket for the Donegal match? I got the double ticket offer for my son and I, he won't be going to the football semi. If anyone is interested you'll have to buy one stand ticket (No terrace) for me and I'll give you the adult and child tickets, my tickets are in the lower Davin, section 321, halfway from the corner to the goal on the Hogan side, three rows from the pitch. I know you're only saving a fiver caus thats the price of the child's ticket, but its better in your pocket. PM if interested

How much have you seen of him this year?
People said the same about Seán Óg a few years ago and he's still doing ok!

I would like to see him tried at full back for the league. He is strong under the high ball, forceful enough to break out with it and his experience would surely help him. While it is a specialised position, I think he could do a fine job there.

I think that would definitely be worth a try.

From what i have seen from Sean Og this year his form for Cork is far better than his form for Na Piarsaigh.

Gardiner is 29 afaik, but the fact that he wasn't used much during the year must say something for the way he was going in training

http://www.napiarsaigh.com/news/john-gardiner-evening-echo-2172012 is an article about him going to fullback from the Evening Echo

You can't play the slowest person on your panel in the one position where pace is most important. Cork need a fullback next yr. After a disappointing season in the half line Eoin Cadogan may well go back to his tried and tested position. Rodgers and Cahalane are the only two underage fullbacks Cork have produced and both may be a bit short of being senior standard.

In fairness to him I've never seen club sides try and play a guy out of a match like him. He plays at 5 every delievery is played down the other wing ect. Even with Aisake at fullforward it was the same ****e. Sars played a sweeper in front of him. When the took a nice lead they put another sweeper back in front of him.

I only saw him twice this year, but he was well of the pace, must just be taking him time to get over something.

Camogie team are into the All Ireland final after beating Galway 3-10 to 0-12. As far as I'm aware, Galway don't have any dual players iirc, since they are playing their football QF at the moment.

Cork ladies footballers are out next weekend v Donegal in Dr Hyde Park - full coverage on TG4

A very good win. Hopefully both the ladies and the mens footballers can follow suit next week!

Both playing Donegal - ladies playing QF on the Saturday, men playing the SF on the Sunday :D

    Rockies beat Bride by 2-11 v 0-14
    Newtown and Piarsaighs drew.
While the Glen hammered the shít out of Cloyne apparently - by 16 pts:eek:

Roll on next Sunday to Cork v Donegal! I had planned to go to this but my nephew's christening has been fixed for the same day! Still I'll look forward to this game on telly,a serious test of Cork's credentials as contenders for Sam,I feel this will be a very tough test for Cork but one I think we can win,Cork hopefully by 2-3 points but 1 will even do!

Well done to Cork camogie team on their great win yesterday over Galway.

Cadogan has already been tried at full back and was found wanting. He is not or never will be a full back in my opinion. He's far more suited to the half back line.

McDonnell is Corks best bet at this position.

Rockies up against Sars next though - I'm not the most knowledgeable when it comes to club hurling in Cork but that's going to be an uphill battle for them

Sars have a fine team - super underage set up - but they have the very annoying habit of blowing hot and cold way too often, no consistency whatsoever.

The Barrs have been putting in a major effort this year apparently, football and hurling, I think they will be there or there abouts.

From what I've heard the Barrs have been pumping massive energy into their setup and underage development so they should be strong - one of the bigger teams in Cork anyway sure.

It will be a tough match v Donegal but I reckon we (cork) should prevail. Donegal wont have the bottle. They almost threw away the match v Kerry and are just not experienced enough for these high pressure matches.

They have a fair bit of experience but Sunday will certainly be a different kettle of fish. I remember seeing Dublin wilt entirely in the last 15-20 mins in the semi in 2010. I'm not sure donegal will do the same - hopefully because cork are ahead with 20 to go:)

Highly disrespectful of Donegal tbh - they showed plenty bottle to get past Kerry - who, as a Kerryman felt would have had them had they upped the tempo earlier in the second half but that's another story.

They also showed tremendous character to get past Kildare last year in extra time after a physically punishing game - now, the counter to that is the fact that it's 12 months ago - but form is temporary, there's no guarantee Cork will play to the best of their ability and who's to say Donegal won't up it a notch?

Anything can happen on a Sunday in Croker

Team will be announced tomorrow night. I presume it will be along the same lines as the last day. Any news on injuries?
