€25k invested in prize bonds

The Greek bonds won the 50K on 28 May along with another €50. Those were ZH784006 and ZH778808. We can only look back six months to 07 May. They won on 14 May ZH790821 and 21 May ZH802692.

After 28 May they won on 25 June ZH792304, 02 July ZH788016, 23 July x2 ZH774155 & ZH794934, 20 August ZH766405, 10 September x2 ZH760839 & ZH782934, 24 September ZH810575, 15 October x2 ZH774018 & ZH792559, 22 October ZH773190 and 05 November ZH798665.

A total of 15 x €50, ignoring the 50K. There are 49,737 bonds between the lowest and highest numbers, valued at €310,850. From memory they have ZH816xxx another 6,000 approx bonds, say a value of €348,350.

Doing a calculation based on my October count, either of those would win 9 x €50 in six months with average luck. So with 15 they are definitely doing much better, but not anything very remarkable.

Nothing for me. Monaghan with 13 prizes is the lowest in the country. But the same person managed to get a €500 and a €50. Leitrim with 15, 3 x €50 to one person, and Longford with 19, 2 x €50 to one person, also had lucky people.

If you were getting the max €250k in Prize bonds would you buy them in one go and thus have one big continuous range of bonds, or would you buy say €50k worth every fortnight to diversify the range of bond numbers you hold?

Leaning towards buying in bulk myself. Envisioning owning one large chunk of a roulette wheel and having a better chance of the ball landing in it 😁

In reality it probably makes SFA difference. Our Greek friend seems to do well with his bulk bought bonds though.

You would be better off investing in Saving Certs or Bonds if you can lock the money away for a few years. Possibly better returns

Bravo, you finally won €50 in 2021, I thought you'd go through the entire year with a long dry spell, a famine and break your own record and win absolutely nothing or pull off a massive stunt and win the jackpot at the end of the year, I really thought this long dry spell was building up to a climax, the culmination of something, it wouldn't surprise me.

More remarkable is bonds worth €87K winning 3 prizes in one draw, as happened in Leitrim 12 November. 16 in 26 draws for €310K is something which is probably replicated often. There would be about 13,500 sets of €310K. We have lots of reports of serious under performance, so it all goes to make the average. The €50K is just a figure to which one of the winning numbers in a random selection is attached every draw.

The good or bad news for pbwinner is that every draw stands on its own. Nothing which happened in the past has any influence on the next draw.

Last win Aug 13th and before that was Mar 26th.

Had a good start to year but very hit and miss since.

7x50 so far 2021 on 160k.

Have plans for the funds next year... Delayed by covid and scarcity of tradesmen.

Nothing for me. The new bonds I got from the last draw are AYJ. The newest to win today are brand new AYL, only part of that million in circulation. One of those is in the Czech Republic.
