Hello All we are UK based and recently were forced to cash in over 100k of bonds, the Irish authorities insisted I hold a PRSI no (my husband has one) but would not allow me to have one, so the bonds had to be cashed, total inequality since Irish residents can hold UK bonds, the return rate on the prizebonds had deteriorated last win Eu50 last April total mess, together with the frequent requests for proof of identity (authenticated) it was becoming a nightmare to hold them. Have invested in UK Prem bonds and won a small prize first month, I presume it will be a job for Kerry Had absolutely no problem getting the cash, it was dealt with efficiently

That's strange as the website lists 59 overseas winners this week Australia, UK, USA, France, Netherlands, Italy, Germany, Portugal, Continents(?) and Isle of Man. Maybe they all have PPS Numbers?

My thoughts exactly,   I hope Kerry put as much energy into contacting them as they did with us,    there was no requirement to have this PPS number when most of the bonds were purchased,  it was brought in later,    change of contractual details we could not comply with unfortunatly

Its nothing personal. You're probably reaching beyond "lotto number jackpot" odds trying to win €50k with €6k in pbs.

We held some of our batches for over 30 years and the max we won in one win was 1 x Eu 1000    all the other prizes were just  50 Eu   although we sometimes won 2 x 50 eu in the same week and from the same batch,     could never understand how random the picking list was  but good luck anyway, someone has to win  although it looks as though living in Dublin swings the odds

My win last week came after 26 weeks. I reinvest so I can see how many bonds were issued in that time from the serial numbers. It was 39,480,206. So we can probably say that there will be in the region of 80 million new bonds issued in any span of 12 months, if the prizes stay the same.

All those weeks without a prize have erased your memory - look back to the answers given to same question posted by you 25th Sept 2017

We had approx. 100k (now cashed in recently)  I have s/sheet of winnings dating back to 2008   winnings then were approx. 2,175 pa in 2008  it was 2,875 in 2011   this dropped to 1,100 in 2015, 2016, and then 200 in 2017   we won 1,000 many years ago but the rest was made up of 50eu  we often won twox50 on the same batch in the same month,  sometimes the same batch the following month,    some 500 unit batches won as many as 17 times in the period I held info for.  could never understand the random selection when the same batches won perhaps someone could explain that. we won 5 x 50 in one week years ago   hope this helps

The misconception is that random doesn't mean that two bonds can't win in two separate weeks or that the same bond can't win multiple times in a row. The random nature of the prize bond draw just affords each bond an equal likelihood of being a winner. It is thus entirely possible that you will notice mini patterns amongst the wider results, in fact our brains are wired to notice these which can often make people think something which is random isn't.

Disappointed? Did you notice the post above you where €100K won €200 in last year. Now, that's disappointing! Payback is very fast - posted mine on a Wed., had the cheque the folowing Monday.

Given that Rabo Direct are now closed I’m going to chance 25k into prize bonds, interest rates are so crap it’s worth a punt, let’s see how I go.

Your 2016 winnings are really surprising low, given that number of bonds.

You don't say what your investment is so figures don't mean a lot.
Mine is 60k plus 100 PBs from the 1980s.
    7 wins 2016
    8 wins 2017
    0 wins 2018
Last win 22nd September 2017, nothing this week.
The unluckiest county in Ireland Co Fermanagh is holding it's own, prize record holder of regularly winning NOTHING! Today the entire county won nothing, no surprise, the other 5 counties in Northern Ireland now down to single figures, Co Monaghan 22 wins, but go over the border in Co Armagh only 2 winners, we live in hope, dream big and wait for next Friday:rolleyes:
