The Crow ftw, there's no guarantee that they'll know the source of his powers.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,971 ✭✭✭Orim

I'm going to have to agree with Fewcifur. Reading up on It, I just can't look past him. Can appear invincible, good mind control abilities, drag people into the macroverse with his eyes. But he does seem to rely on fear.

The Crow is pretty damn powerful. Got the super strength, solid regeneration and a damn vicious streak. Trying to figure out the fact that the crow is the key to his power in a short period would be hard for the two opponents.

But Goliath is a freaking gargoyle. Super strength and made of stone. Come on.

The more I think about this the less certain I become.

In the physical world, It just isn't full power. He might not get taken out but he can be restricted enough to no longer be a threat. The speed and reflexes of Crow would give him enough of an advantage in the fight.

    Crow ftw

    5 for The Crow
    1 for IT
    0 for Goliath

    Match over. The Crow wins.

Hmmm two beings with immense power if both are looked at when at their most powerful.

But only one is a true god, whereas the other is a demigod. Thor is the son of two true gods, Odin and Gaea, whereas Kratos is the son of Zeus and a mortal, Callisto.

Plus Thor at his most powerful takes over from Odin, and possesses the Odin Force as well as his own range of powers.

I just cannot see Kratos at his most powerful being able to beat the All father version of Thor as that version becomes the most powerful of all the gods.

Kratos is very powerful and has taken on some real powerhouses in his time. But the fact of the matter is that he was taking on Greek gods. Gods of the namby pamby, toga wearing inventors of the ghey.

He's up against a norse god. THE norse god if Kess is to be believed. God of the vikings. Beer drinking, pig eating, raping and pillaging vikings. Also probably this guys god.

End of the day, gods get their power from their believers. And Thor has some bad ass believers.

    Thor FTW

Thor wins with ease. he flings Mjolnir over Kratos's head then positions himself so the return trajectory is through Kratos' skull.

  • Registered Users Posts: 12,746 ✭✭✭✭FewFew

What does Kratos do best apart from tire out buxom broads? Kill gods.

Thor may be all powerful, but look at Kratos' hit list, I mean he goes about killing gods and titans all the time. With the power of the fates, titans and Greek gods behind him, plus his knack for discovering ways to kill gods, I'm pretty sure he'll have Thor. Have him hard. In the face.

    Will Kratos beat Thor?

Kratos has been killed by a God before only to return from Hades with a vengence. This is old ground for him. Killings Gods is what he does best. Thor to "kill" Kratos, only for the Spartan to rise from Hades and defeat Thor with the power of Pandora's box.

    662px-Hell_mkvsdcu.jpg

"Charon has been sent to Scorpion's Lair to rid Hell of the renegade ninja specter once and for all. While Charon has no particular gripe with Scorpion he hates his job as the underworld's ferryman and has been promised that he will be relieved of it if he accomplishes this task.
Another lost souls, Faith Lehane, has also found herself in the Lair, sent on a mission to eradicate these two dangerous daemons."

  • Registered Users Posts: 25,560 ✭✭✭✭Kess73

Going by the link Galv put up, I take it we are using the Gods Of War version of Charon?

If so then Faith and Scorpy are screwed.

It took a powered up version of the already powerful Katos to beat Charon.

Neither Faith nor Scorpy are in the same league as Kratos before he was powered up for that fight, so I can see neither being able to stop Charon when he has something he wants to fight for.

Charon with a crushing and easy win as he goes in with everything he has from the start.

Charon for a crushingly simple victory over his opponents.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,971 ✭✭✭Orim

Charon lures them onto his ferry and unleashes it's power to kill them.

He then sails off for sun, sand and pina coladas.

  • Registered Users Posts: 12,746 ✭✭✭✭FewFew

Faith is outclassed and doesn't have any plot holes or deus ex machina to save her.

Scorpion and Charon sound like they're very similar moves, but Charon sounds like he's just far too quick and resilient for Scorpion.

    Charon for the win.

    496px-DemonRing.png

"After being defeated in battle by Optimus Prime, The Fallen arrives in the Demon realm. He demands to be shown the way out so that he can continue with his plan to consume the sun and finally get his revenge against the Primes once and for all. Unfortunately for him, nobody comes or goes unless the Demon King Dabura says so. Sensing an opportunity for sport and relishing the challenge Dabura creates a ring for them to do battle in. If The fallen emerges victorious he will be free to go and do as he so chooses. If Dabura wins, his soul is damned for all of eternity.
The denizens of the Demon Realm gather with excitement and bated breath to watch what is being billed as the biggest entertainment event in many an age. Before the battle can begin a new challenger shows up to join the fight, but he is not asking for freedom... He is here by choice!"

As with GR vs Eliphas I suspect there won't be much of Hell left after this bout! :D

Due to the speed/teleportation of the other two combatants this is going to be a long and painful match for Penance. But only half as painful as it will be for the others...

One of them has Super Speed, another has a ridiculous size and durability advantage, and the last is pretty much a big angry levitating kinetic hardfield with legs... or power armor, anyway :pac:

For all his size and strength, TF goes down first. He's too big and convenient a target, and Prime himself showed us all how to take him out. While his beams bounce off Penance's shielding and his attack drones are nailed by P's remote spheres launching at them an incessent barrage of explosive biotic bolts from Penance and biotic shockwaves and microsingularities from Dab ruin his shiny xenomorph-like face and with the front of his head torn to ribbons Dab rushes in and Darkness Slash-es his Spark asunder, then before TF can recover from the disruption Dab seals the remains in a microsingularity. The iron (well, exoticmetal) goliath falls.

Dab has had his fun, but the annoying interloper doesn't seem to think its finished yet. Flurries of hastily-aimed biotic fire implodes, blasts and shreds the surroundings or bounce harmlessly off P's shields while Dab flies around at enormous speed, and his petrifying venom glands are as useful against the shield as it was against the metal giant. Realising that he'd need to focus on penetrating the shield to end the battle, Dab backs off further and launches myriad razor-edged biotic hardfields from his claws, and with the shield's integrity degraded he generates a biotic spear and launches it with tremendous force right at Penance. The spear punches through the shield to gouge Penance, the killing blow deflected by his armor. Eyeing his injured prey, Dabura readies his venom and moves in for the kill.

But he's underestimated his opponent. He easily dodges the last, feeble flurry of blasts, but then Penance roars and the compromised shield explodes outward, the bubble not shattering but expanding to form a vast spherical shockwave that cannot be dodged. It catches Dabura off-guard and hits him with the force of an articulated truck and rushes on to pulverize everything in a half-kilometer radius flat in the space of just half a second.

No human could have survived such force, but Dabura is anything but human. Enraged, he smashes Penance with a microsingularity, the implosion causing massive damage but bizarrely failing to kill the wounded fighter, the bulk of its power deflected by a last-ditch forcefield. Generating a series of hard-fields to recreate his beloved biotic "sword" Dab rushes in for the kill... and is caught out when Penance stops firing explosive pulses and creates a coruscating sheath of energy around him, frying the demon with arcs of lightning-like energy. As a burning Dabura tries to free himself for one last strike the energy rushes into Penance's fists... and the fighter punches the hapless demon straight through the floor of the arena!

The hail of explosive blasts starts up again, all flung into the newly-formed pit where Dabura was last seen. The wounded Penance doesn't let up for quite a while, but after several minutes the earthquake shaking Hell itself ceases. Dabura is either mincemeat or has fled his own arena. Returning to the ground, an exhausted Penance strides out alone, bleeding but victorious.

    Penance FTW

Excellent take on it, and I have to agree totally.

Baldwin has gone from being a lame New Warrior to potentially a high end super in recent years, and your version hit that nail on the head for me.

However, Elektra is in no mood to be bothered on her return to her place of birth and intends to deal with the interlopers accordingly..."

  • Registered Users Posts: 25,560 ✭✭✭✭Kess73

Don't know anything about the Elric brothers bar what is in the links Gav put up, but they are taking on one of the best killers in the Marvel universer who has fighting abilities that have bested Wolverine in berserker mode and Wolverine in full control of his mind (Enemy Of The State storyline is just one example of this), plus she is one of the best martioal artists in the Marvel Universe.

Elektra can control minds now and can put her mind into another's body and control them, as well as having a degree of telekinesis.

She has shown herself capable of matching the best fighters on the planet, and she has shown she can take on superheroes/villains to the power class of Spiderman in hand to hand combat.

So we have one of the best killers on the planet on home turf and with prior knowledge the brothers are coming for her.

The brothers are going to meet their end on a Greek island.

    Elektra for the win.

  • Moderators, Technology & Internet Moderators Posts: 18,377 Mod ✭✭✭✭Solitaire

I'm not so sure. Remember, Elektra is playing against her strengths, as she gets the Home Turf bonus but loses her vital Ambush bonus which is a game-changer here. And she only really has a slight physical advantage as the Elrics are trained martial artists with Olympic-level strength/speed/reflexes and experience with fighting highly-trained armed and unarmed combatants both with and without their powers.

Then there's the fact that the one who is virtually the same level of combatant as Elektra also happens to be made of steel plate that can be reinforced with carbonium (or whatever Marvel calls the stuff that's stronger than adamantium) within a split second of hostilities commencing and can only be taken down if a very specific weakpoint is nailed, cannot tire, does not sleep and is stupidly strong and durable in his current form. And shortie is no laughing matter either. He has Physical Discipline (limited physical/pierce resistance, high stun resistance, can't be disrupted) and more importantly Mental Discipline (very high Vitality resist, extremely high mindhacking resistance) which really hurts Elektra's ability to crowd-control them as trying to read their minds let alone plant illusions will be extremely difficult and time-consuming, and trying to bodyjack them will be nigh-on impossible.

Add the fact that Ed is also a Mimic + Defender + Quick Thinker + Combat Tactician combo just like a low-mid-tier super version of Taskmaster and if Elektra doesn't manage to take them out in her first attack (very unlikely given they're trying to talk to her and she gets no ambush, which would make this a very different story) she's in a world of hurt. I don't think she has much experience with Reality Hackers as its more usually a God-Tier skillset only, and would be unprepared for their superpowers, whereas they've learned the hard way with regard to stealth types and mindhackers before and can adjust quickly to suit. If Elektra tries to get back into the shadows they'll keep her in sight while attacking, and if she actually succeeded in getting back into cover then they'd simply remove it. There's the catch right there. Without the ambush she can't whack Ed or disable Al before they erect their carbon shielding, and the home advantage is meaningless against these two because if they were annoyed enough they'd systematically level it to keep her out in the open, at which point its only a matter of time before some alchemy or their arm-blades nail her, long before her own superpowers can punch through their hardened minds.

    Elric Bros FTW
