Wow, nice shots! Where is that?

    Dunhill Castle, it's about a 15 minute walk from Dunhill, Co.Waterford :)

    Coordinates for it are 52.15615,-7.264799

    Or Google Maps:

Nope, there's a gate opposite the carpark at the nine stones, and a road you can take up to the mast at the summit. I haven't done it yet, a very tough climb by all accounts, and scary descent. If its anything like Kippure, I'd actually be more concerned about the descent.

I reckon it's a hell of a lot tougher than Kippure. Kippure does get quite steep as you close in on the top but never gets as steep as Mount Leinster which is steep from the start and never relents.

One to look forward to so, put probably not after a long day on the bike. May also want to considering losing a bit off the midriff ;)

    What's the surface like?

I only walked it and that was several years ago so I couldn't say for sure what it's like to cycle it now.

You should try it smacl, it's ureal, I tackled it again recently, but I probably shouldn't have as the wind was savage.

Someone has defined a segment for the descent aswell  and some guy hit 90km/h on it, I highly recommend NOT challenging this segment :o;)

@calistro: that colnago is beautiful but the mudguard makes me sad

Where are those photos taken by the way?

    SW usa??

  • Registered Users Posts: 926 ✭✭✭G rock

And and by the way, if I get it wrong I've had a pint or two!

    Spain?

    Prob a more realistic bet

Three roundabouts in 1km. Obstructed at each one, and forced to wait for motorised traffic to move before I can access "cycle facilities". Same congestion happens every morning as a matter of routine.

plenty of space in all three photos for a bike

EDIT: wait, you're the poster who always has the trailer right? Makes sense if that's the case.

It's a beauty all right, thought about ripping off the mudguard while he wasn't looking:D

Your 2nd post got it, southern Spain about 1hr north-east of Granada, miles & miles of tracks and the smoothest tarmac that nobody seems to want to drive on!!

    Spot on.

What do Irish local authorities do when they construct expensive new bike paths?

What else, they immediately restrict cycle access to and from those "facilities":
This was once a joyful thread.

Thread is for photos. And the likes of 'velo' has set the bar very high. Plenty of other threads for discussion and such like.

Can you elaborate? Genuine question, intended respectfully.
People have been posting pictures of nice scenery, nice buildings and nice bikes they have seen on their spins. Your photos display the worst of cycling and also a rant. There are plenty of other threads for that. This thread is usually uplifting and often envy inducing, particularly when velopeloton posts.

Here's a valedictory pic, to soothe sore eyes, and smooth ruffled feathers.

Taken while on the Mulranny to Achill Greenway this summer.

    Happy snapping, and cycling.

What? Black Prince? Not around here.

It's "la petite chapelle Notre-Dame de Piétat", in Saint-Savin.

This was the place I remembered

    Not too far away.

It got the old fly-over and name check on the Tour in July.
