Do you mind me asking what mudguards are on your Dolan, are there mudguard eyelets on that frame, they look very tidy....

    Thanks

Yeah, I bought it specifically because there are eyelets. The 'guards are SKS Bluemels 35mm 700x20-28 Commuting Mudguards as far as I recall.....They were a bit of a faff to fit, but all mudguards are, IMO. They were only €30 in my local Halfords back in October,

I previously had SKS Longboard with the quick-release thingys to use my summer bike throughout the winter, but the attachments are very weak.

The mudguards on the Dolan are perfect, really satisfied despite the time and effort taken to fit them.

Col de Tramassel. Mad weather, there should be several metres of snow here.

Ran out of water/legs in the Karoo summer heat - knocked on a farmer's door for a refill, got invited to use the pool as well. Felt like an oases in the Sahara.... guess a bottle of wine to return the favour on the next driveby is in order.

Headed up there today to check out the severity of the snow, with my hands going numb and feet soaked from the slush I decided to call it quits at the Kippure entrance gate. Surprised at the amount of traffic around.

Great pics, what was the actual road like over the gap to Glencree?

The slush got progressively worse towards the gap when I reached Glencree. Got quite a few splashes of it from passing cars so it didn't take long to get into my shoes. Oddly enough though, I found the uphill cycling around there much easier than I normally have. Decided to take my time on the slippy sections so luckily didn't have any accidents.

The coach below was abandoned with the warning lights still flashing on one of the road bends next to Lough Bray - appeared to have slipped into the ditch a bit.

Were any of you the cyclists in that Skycam Ireland video yesterday that's been doing the rounds? It was from Military Road and would be a nice souvenir from the spin in that weather!

Early into long spin Saturday looking across Galway bay to coast of Clare, a few hours before those showers on the horizon kept me company. Next week must remember that despite the morning sunshine it's still winter: bring food, dress warm!
