What's so unique about the gate?

I helped make it about 30 years ago.

It's made from wood left over Bulmer trailers.

Photo taken a day after I'd painted it and the day I bought the bike. Eye of the beholder and all that ☺

I'd a nice relaxed spin around Dublin today so here's a few photos.

As I arrived at the South Wall I saw this beast being towed backwards - at least something was moving slower than me!
    IMG_2239.jpg

When I saw this it screamed at me as it's my Mam's address from when she was a child. I remember this place when it was busy with Irish Shipping vessels and ships unloading coal. Raleigh had a warehouse here back in the day. The landscape in this area has change radically from when I was wee lad in shorts being shown the sites by my Gandpa.
    IMG_2240.jpg

Then I stopped to refuel. Tasty. I doubt croissants were available here in the early 1970s!

Had a bank holiday today over here in the UK so decided to head to Haweswater. Close to 85km all in all and managed to take these two of the Haweswater Reservoir.

Rogue Trooper I'm not sure if you're aware of it, but when you leave the summit take a left onto Thornaby Road, go down the hill past the Summit shop until you find a yellow ESB sign posted gate telling you its a private road (you'll have access on the bike)..

Follow this down the The Bailey Lighthouse and you have some spectacular views of the cliffs and a better view over Dublin Bay. Its really worth the little detour.

I earmarked this advice for my visit, thanks! - had an absolute blast tonight.

I spent the last week and a half in Spain and did some riding as well. Hands down the best time I've ever had on 2 wheels.

Here's some pictures from Granada - Sierra Nevada.

Cool.. I must show my grown up children that at least someone listens to my advice :pac:

Its a grand little detour, and if you've got the balls to go near the cliffs edge it can be quite rewarding in terms of watching the wildlife which live and breed on the cliffs.
