Shows up fine in the video addons menu, but when I try to run it, it says:
    Error:
    Script failed!

Edit - Okay, so I fixed it, I renamed the folder to plugin.video.vodie

Seems to work, got a stream up and running, will try it out properly tomorrow. :)

Installed and working on my atv2 :-)

Only catch is I can't get live tv to work

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 64 ✭✭aledoux

Ok Thanks for letting me know about the installation issue. I have it resolved and documented.
A new zip (plugin.video.vodie_1.0.1.zip) is available for download.
If you got VODie 1.0.0 to work, no need to install the updated version.

NickHX: For Live TV, VODie is currently listing all the live streams available. This doesn't mean that they are streaming anything. I tried this morning on my ATV1 and Daily Show played fine. As for Live Latest Irish News it looks like the stream is using an audio codec that XBMC RTMP library doesn't support yet. Please let me know if this is still not working for you.

All request, issues please use the Issue process available on the VODie page.

A new release of VODie (1.1.0) is now available allowing viewing Live TV from Magnet.

Live TV working fine thanks both on RTE and Magnet Web TV.

Getting Error:Script failed! when I try to run 1.1.0 in XBMC Live 10.1
Maybe it's not compatible with xbmc live?

EDIT: durrrrrrr change the view to list. my bad :o

Hmm... installed fine on ATV2 but crashes XBMC when it tries to play anything. I did get one ad on RTE to play and then it just crashed while fetching/buffering the program.

    Any pointers?

If you can find the time to port this to Boxee, I will buy you all your drink for an evening.

    No, promise.

Super Job aledoux really completes XBMC.

  • Really great aledeoux. Thanks for supporting those of us still using XBMC on an XBox. Only problem I'm having is in the "Live" section of the RTE area.

+1 ~ Beers on me if you can port to Boxee.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,487 ✭✭✭banquo

    SO MUCH BEER.

  • I figured out a few things in relation to the problems I've been having with the Live section. It seems when there's a movie on either RTE1 or RTE2 you can't watch it. Fair enough I'll use the Magnet TV. After taking some time to read this thread fully it seems the "Live News Now" won't play because of an unsupported audio codec.

Unfortunately I'm now having problems with the TV3 section. It's not showing the latest episodes of things such as Emmerdale or Coronation Street. I've checked the site and they are available to watch there. The plugin doesn't find them though.

Any chance of a Plex port?

Just tried this on my ATV2 - everything works so far, thanks :)

Because it's missing from your install page, the path for ATV2 is different to ATV1, it's this:
    /private/var/mobile/Library/Preferences/XBMC/addons

As somebody not living in Ireland, a big thank you. My media center is now complete. :)

Not all content is available, but a good proportion of it is.

The TV3 plugin hasnt been working for a while. Any idea how/who would be the person to contact who developed the plugin to alert them?

    Post bugs here: http://code.google.com/p/xbmc-vodie/issues/list
but it looks like the problem with TV3 is already posted on the google code page. Maybe it is abandoned or the dev is busy currently.

Any other decent pluggins for XMBC?

Using Icefilms for my movies, this one for the basic channels and footystream for the soccer.

Any pluggins for freeview, bbc, utv and american channels like HBO etc?

Any know a good alternative to Icefilms?

Works fine on my htpc with openelec loaded

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,706 ✭✭✭Voodu Child

OpenElec is just the Linux version of XBMC running in a custom Linux OS. So any XBMC plugin will work because it is XBMC.

Download the zip file and put it on a USB stick. Then put it in your HTPC and go to system > addons > install from zip file
and browse to the USB stick and select it

I'm not exactly a techie. How does one hook a usb stick up to apple tv? it only has micro usb port on the back...

  • Crikey! That's what I get for being a smarty pants. I thought the ATV had a USB port.

Can you SFTP the zip file to somewhere on the ATV and install from there?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 294 ✭✭eoinkildare
